Elderton Wines - proudly owned and operated by the Ashmead family for 43 vintages. The beautiful building provides great spaces to give you the experience you desire – from a casual tasting at the bar which looks out over our 1894 Command Vineyard, to an in-depth hosted tasting in one of our private tasting rooms, or relax and enjoy a glass of wine with a cheese plate.

Brilliant having Evan from Stock on Hand W**e in the Barossa alongside fantastic Victorian somms Bonnie (Restaurant Navi), Seb (Mount Erica Hotel), and Simon (Rising Sun Hotel Richmond) 🍷

Nothing beats immersing guests in the Elderton story right where it all begins. We spent the day walking through the soil and tasting w**es directly in our historic Command and Ashmead vineyards, before heading into the w**ery to see the craft in action.

To top off a memorable visit, we gathered at the Homestead for a fabulous dinner cooked by Matteo from Casa Carboni.

Sad day today saying goodbye to our Vineyard Manager Peter ‘Wildman’ Wild after almost 17 years at Elderton as he heads into retirement. His legacy is the transformation of all vineyards at Elderton producing ultra-premium grapes. The good news is he is coming back as a contractor! Taking home the Trophy for Best Medium Sized W**ery along with three Gold Medals is a massive honour, but it’s all down to the hard work and passion of this crew right here - cheers to Conrad, Steve, Brock, Jules, Peter, and Aaron!

Earlier this month we released two flagship vintages from our Elite Single Vineyard collection:

2023 Command Shiraz: Sourced from 1894 Ancestor vines, balancing signature depth and power with vibrant fruit, spice, and cellaring potential for up to 20 years (97 Points, Ken Gargett).

2024 Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon: A historic Nuriootpa vineyard captures rich boysenberry, spiced vanilla, and fine tannins (96 Points, Ray Jordan).

Only around 30 six-packs of the 2024 Ashmead Cabernet remain before it sells out completely.
