Now that we have your attention… 😉

CAN WE START TALKING ABOUT CHRISTMAS?!🎄🎅🏼

We know… it’s only October. But with 78 days until Christmas, we thought it might be time to start mentioning the C-word!

And while we’re at it… when was the last time you had your septic tank pumped? 👀

If you’re planning on having family and friends over for Christmas, now is a good time to get it sorted.

The last thing you want is a full septic tank, a house full of guests and nowhere for everyone to… well… go! 🚽

Don’t leave it until Christmas is just around the corner to discover your tank is overdue.

Get it pumped before Christmas and enjoy the holidays without a septic surprise!

Food for thought

🚛 WE CAN’T STAY QUIET ANYMORE.

We need to talk about this fuel crisis AGAIN.

When we speak publicly about industry issues, we aren’t just speaking for ourselves or our situation, we are speaking for our industry and other companies situation that may not have the platform that we do to voice concerns.

We have been very fortunate that the majority of our customers have introduced a fuel levy or increased an existing fuel levy. For that, we are genuinely grateful. We have some incredibly loyal, fair and supportive customers. 🩷

But this is not the reality for everyone or for all our jobs.

And the fuel crisis is putting enormous pressure on everyone throughout the supply chain. Whether you are paying a fuel levy, paying higher fuel prices, or trying to absorb those increases yourself.

Six weeks into the most recent fuel price hike, and fuel and diesel prices are just continuing to climb. And barely anybody is talking about it, these prices cannot be the new ‘normal’.

The Federal Government introduced temporary fuel excise relief which came late and is now no longer in place.

The Government described removing the reliefs as this as a “graduated return to normal settings.”

But how are we supposed to return to “normal settings” when current fuel and diesel prices are anything but normal?

The relief ended 6 weeks ago and fuel prices have rapidly continued to rise.

The trucking industry is left carrying the cost.

At the same time, the Fair Work Commission’s Road Transport Contractual Chain Order Fuel Cost Recovery is currently not in place, with the matter not scheduled for review until October.

That creates a very real problem.

There is no mechanism ensuring every increase in fuel costs is automatically passed through the supply chain.

So there are operators out there doing freight today at rates that were negotiated when diesel was around $1.60–$1.80 a litre … or even less.

That simply does not work in the real world.

Every truck moving freight is part of the cost of getting goods to Australians.

If transport operators cannot sustainably recover their costs, eventually the entire supply chain feels the impact.

We don’t want a handout.
We don’t want special treatment.
We want a sustainable industry.
We want transparent and enforceable fuel cost recovery throughout the supply chain.
We have invested our lives into these businesses.
We employ Australians.
We pay taxes.
We maintain our trucks.
We comply with the rules.
We invest in our equipment and our people.
We keep supermarket shelves stocked, construction sites moving and Australian industry operating.

We keep Australia moving. 🇦🇺

So we need to ask:

WHEN IS OUR GOVERNMENT GOING TO PROPERLY LOOK AFTER THE FAMILY-OWNED AUSTRALIAN BUSINESSES THAT KEEP THIS COUNTRY MOVING?

🚛 FOUR WEEKS LATER… OUR TRUCK IS BACK! 🚛

Four weeks ago, one of our trucks was involved in an accident.

Thankfully, everyone involved walked away unharmed, but our truck was left with some serious damage and has been off the road ever since.

Today, we’re very happy to say that our truck is finally back!

This is also a good opportunity to share a reminder about truck safety and the importance of taking extra care around heavy vehicles.

Heavy vehicles can weigh many tonnes, whether empty or fully loaded. They cannot stop as quickly as a car, require much more distance to brake safely, and need extra room to complete turns.

That's why you'll see the warning "DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE" displayed on the back of heavy vehicles. This warning is there for a reason.
When a truck begins turning, the driver may not be able to see a vehicle beside them due to blind spots.

While it might look like there is enough room to pass, there often isn't — and by the time the driver becomes aware of another vehicle, it may already be too late.

Thankfully, our recent incident had no serious injuries, but it could have ended very differently.

Please remember:

🟢Never overtake a truck that is indicating or already in the process of turning.

🟡Allow extra following distance to give yourself time to react.

🟢Stay out of a truck's blind spots whenever possible.

🟡Always drive to the road and weather conditions.

🟢Be patient — arriving a few minutes later is far better than risking a serious accident.

Every one of us has a part to play in keeping our roads safe. A little patience and awareness can prevent a life-changing accident.

We hope a valuable lesson has been learnt here.

Welcome back big girl! We’re very happy to have her back and we will be putting her to work straight away! 🚛💚

Massive thank you to everyone involved in getting her back on the road!

Drive safely. Stay alert. Share the road. Get home safely. 💛

🌧️ HEAVY RAIN ON THE WAY? 🌧️

If the forecast is right, we could be in for a fair bit of rain over the weekend! 🌧️

While most septic systems will handle a bit of rain without an issue, heavy rainfall can sometimes cause problems, particularly if your tank is already getting full or your system is struggling.

If you notice any of the following after the rain:

💧 Slow-draining toilets or drains
💧 Gurgling sounds from your drains
💧 Water pooling around your septic tank or soakage
💧 Unpleasant smells
💧 Your septic system backing up or overflowing

Give us a call on Monday.

We know the wet weather can bring a few unexpected problems, so we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone who needs us.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Stay safe, warm and dry!

Hopefully the rain isn’t quite as heavy as they’re predicting! 🤞🌧️

👀 ARE WE SEEING DOUBLE? 🚛🚛

No, you’re not seeing double — this week, we had two truck and trailers on site to tackle a large w**e waste job.

With two trucks working together, our team was able to complete the job ahead of the planned schedule, removing approximately 160,000–200,000 litres of w**e waste from the two tanks.

A great effort from the Jury’s team, working together to get the job done.

Whether it’s residential or commercial septic tanks, grease traps, w**e waste or large-scale projects — no job is too big or too small for the Jurys Liquid Waste team.

No job is too big or too small for the Jury’s Liquid Waste team! 🚛💧

Here’s a look at one of our biggest recent jobs!

Over the course of a couple of weeks, our crew worked hard to empty and clean out a large dam, removing an incredible 2,556,000 litres of liquid and heavy sludge - yes you read that right, that’s 2.556 million litres!

This was no ordinary job! It required multiple trucks and trailers on site, long days, plenty of teamwork, and working through all conditions — including rain, mud, and plenty more mud!

It was a huge effort from the entire team, with everyone pitching in to get the job completed.

Even the boss was out there getting his hands dirty and working alongside the team to get the job done!

A massive effort from everyone involved, with another challenging job completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. 👏

Whether it’s residential septic tanks, grease traps, industrial waste or large scale clean outs like this one — no job is too big or too small for the Jurys Liquid Waste team.

A huge thank you to our hardworking crew for another outstanding effort! 💚🚛

🌳 Tree Roots & Septic Tanks 🌳

Take a look at these photos... 👀

This is an example of an extremely root-bound septic tank. Over time, tree roots have entered the tank through small cracks, joins or pipe connections, eventually creating a dense mass that can affect the performance of the entire septic system.

Root intrusion can:
🚫 Reduce your tank's capacity.🚫 Block inlet and outlet pipes.🚫 Cause slow drains and sewage backups.🚫 Damage your septic system.🚫 Lead to costly repairs if left untreated.

In cases like this, the roots need to be removed before the tank can continue to operate correctly. Our operators can remove root masses like this and pump the tank, helping to restore the system's function.

If you have large trees growing near your septic system, regular maintenance is the best way to help prevent unexpected problems. Routine pump-outs allow us to identify issues early, before they turn into major repairs or emergency call-outs.

If you suspect tree roots may be affecting your septic system, or you're due for a pump-out, we'd be happy to help.

Call us 📞(08) 8563 9190

Don't wait until your septic system stops working. Preventative maintenance is always the more affordable option.

💛 Supporting Local & Supporting Small Business – What Does It Really Mean? 💚

We often hear the phrases "support local" and "support small business," but what do they really mean?

Of course, it starts with choosing a local business when you need a product or service. But supporting local doesn't end once the job is done.

Behind every small business are real people—families, employees, suppliers, and business owners who work hard every day to provide quality products and services to their community.
When you support a local business, you're helping keep local people employed, supporting other local suppliers, and contributing to the strength of your community.

Every dollar spent locally helps businesses like ours continue to operate, grow, and give back to the communities we proudly serve. We're proud to support our local communities by sponsoring local football clubs, helping local sporting clubs thrive and giving back to the people who support us.

One of the most valuable ways you can continue supporting a small business is by paying your invoice by the due date.

Unlike large corporations, small businesses rely on healthy cash flow to cover wages, fuel, equipment, insurance, vehicle maintenance, suppliers, and the many everyday costs involved in running a business.

A paid invoice isn't just another transaction—it's what helps keep our trucks on the road, our team employed, and allows us to continue providing the reliable service our customers have come to expect.

It may seem like a small gesture, but it makes a real difference.

To all of our customers who choose local, support small business, and pay their accounts on time—thank you.

Your support means more than you know, and we truly appreciate being part of this wonderful community. 💛
