Country Home Services

Country Home Services Country Home Services improves the lives of older country people. This is what drives the work that we do. For more information, call us on 1300 773 202

We do this through support, connection, inclusion and advocacy. Country Home Services offers flexible and personalised in-home support for people living in the Barossa, Yorke Peninsula, Gawler, Wakefield Plains and the Lower North. We offer Aged Care Services through the:
- Commonwealth Home Support Program, which provides a service that gives a little bit of extra assistance around the home, sup

porting you to remain independent and to enjoy life your way.
- Home Care Package, which provides safe and quality services that you design to meet your needs. You have control, you have choice, and you make decisions about the type of services that support you to age in the way that you want. Both these types of services are subsidised by the government for eligible persons who are over 65 or over 50 if you are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. At Country Home Services we are able to provide you with services that truly support your lifestyle. We offer a wide range of services and the confidence that you are choosing a organisation that has had over 30 years of experience and has built up trust and resources within your local country community. Your journey matters to us, so let us offer you the right support you need.

Don’t you just love an important email landing in your inbox late on a Friday afternoon?
I’ve had two of those this year.
The first arrived in February, informing me that Country Home Services would be among the first home care service organisations to undergo re-accreditation and re-registration under the new Aged Care Act.
An email we were expecting… and yet, at the same time, not expecting to be notified late on a Friday afternoon. Weekend was spent thinking about the work ahead.
We had just two weeks to gather and prepare evidence against 27 outcomes across Standards 1 to 5. Two weeks to demonstrate not just compliance, but also to get feedback on the changes to culture and care we had been working so hard to rebuild.
Then, last Friday afternoon, came the second email.
An email we were expecting… and were so happy to receive even late on a Friday afternoon. This time the weekend was spent thinking about the work behind us.
The result: one minor non-conformance and we are already well on track to complete ahead of our right of response within the next two weeks.
And in that moment, all the late nights and hard work made sense and I had such a feeling of pride.
Pride in the team we have built.
Pride in the resilience, commitment, and sheer hard work shown by the management team over the past 18 months.
Pride in the journey we’ve taken. Repairing where we could, and where we couldn’t, having the courage to rebuild Country Home Services into something stronger.
This process has not been easy. But it has been worth it. Because at the heart of it all is our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care to the people who rely on us every day.
To the entire team I thank you – well done. This achievement is yours.

Recently our recruitment team attended the Kadina Career Roadshow.
The team felt that this roadshow was very successful as they had some great conversations with the students and our interactive stand provided thought provoking conversations about community aged care roles. Overall we made a positive impact and sourced some good potential support workers along the way.

It was lovely to meet some wonderful businesses who called in at our Grand Opening morning tea. Today we met Meagan from Mobility SA, a business that holds space where individuals can learn, trial and access aids and equipment that help them to maintain independence and wellbeing.

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month – Bowel Cancer Australia’s signature event to raise awareness of Australia’s second deadliest cancer and funds for the leading community-funded charity dedicated to championing what matters most to people impacted by bowel cancer and empowering everyone affected to live their best life.

Bowel cancer is preventable and treatable
Bowel cancer claims the lives of 103 Australians every week (5,372 people a year) – but it’s one of the most treatable types of cancer when detected early.
