Dear members and friends of Old Bar Manning Point Business & Community Association,

The time has come to decide the future of our Association. A belated 2025 Annual General Meeting will be held at Club Old Bar on Tuesday 17 February 2026 commencing at 6:00 pm. An agenda and previous minutes are attached.

The Association has had many great achievements since its commencement in 2004, such as the establishment of the Old Bar Beach Festival in 2005, publication of Information Booklets for visitors, installation of 10 Old Bar bus shelters, grants for music at the markets, successful Business Networking Luncheons, investigation of security cameras for the shopping precinct and maintaining community notice boards to name a few.

Such achievements need a significant input of time and energy from community leaders and individuals however, and these days it is not easy to make such a commitment.

You are invited to attend the AGM on Tuesday 17 February to contribute to the decision on whether the Association can be revitalised and a new committee elected, if it should be merged with another Business Chamber, or if it should be voluntarily cancelled as an Association and surplus assets distributed.

Please feel free to pass this email to other community members and businesses in the Manning Islands, Old Bar and Wallabi Point area who may be interested to attend.

We did it! After the Special General Meeting on Monday 16 December 2024, The Old Bar Manning Point Business and Community Association has formed a committee for 2025 with lots of positivity and new direction for the New Year.

Thank you to the new committee members for taking on positions and helping to keep our great organisation going for another year.

A MASSIVE thank you to the representatives from Business NSW, Taree and Forster Tuncurry Chambers for coming along to the meeting and giving some great guidance, support and fantastic ideas on how to develop the Association going forward. We look forward to working together to create some great outcomes in the very near future.

Dear members and friends of Old Bar Manning Point Business & Community Association,

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) last Tuesday night was attended by representatives of five major businesses and organisations in the Old Bar Manning Point area, as well as two community representatives - but unfortunately we were not able to elect a full committee to carry the association forward for 2024-25.

We are seeking your help to find members willing to fill any of the positions of President, Vice President and Secretary - enthusiastic people to join the team of four, including Treasurer, who were elected on the night.

There have been some great initiatives during the past year, such as the excellent Business Networking Luncheons, redesign of the website and marketing packages and investigation of security cameras for the shopping precinct, and it would be a shame to lose this momentum. Revamping of the information sign outside Lauders Real Estate and supporting the centenary celebration for the Heritage Airstrip are just two of the projects lined up for 2025.

By way of this email notice is given of a Special General Meeting of the association to be held:

Monday 16 December
Club Old Bar
18:00-18:30

The agenda for the meeting is attached, as well as the minutes of the recent AGM. An election of office bearers of the association will be held.

We give notice that the following Motion will need to be put to this Special General Meeting if additional office bearers cannot be elected:

"That the Old Bar-Manning Point Business and Community Association Incorporated be wound up"

We trust that you will rally to support this unique business and community association, where volunteers work for the betterment of the community in the Old Bar Manning Point region.

A reminder to all our Business and Community members that our Association meeting will be held tonight Club Old Bar at 6pm.

We also welcome you to join us at our next networking lunch this Thursday at the Meridian Beachside resort, 32 Lewis St Old Bar. Tickets can be purchased from Old Bar Village cafe prior to the event or cash on the day.
