We are proud to announce that Chris Tucker Marine Design (CTMD) has officially achieved formal accreditation for our in-house developed ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Building a robust, comprehensive QMS has been a long-term plan for our firm. At the start of 2026, we established a clear company goal to transition our internal frameworks into a formally accredited system before the end of the year. Reaching this milestone is a significant step forward for our practice. For our company, ISO 9001 accreditation validates the rigorous design and engineering processes we have cultivated internally. It embeds a culture of continuous improvement into our daily operations, ensuring that our naval architecture, drafting, and project management workflows remain structured, efficient, and highly accountable as we grow.

For our clients, this accreditation delivers independent assurance that every project we undertake is backed by globally recognized quality standards. Whether we are engineering industry-leading stepped hull patrol boats or managing complex commercial builds, our clients can have absolute confidence in our consistency, strict risk management, and steadfast adherence to regulatory compliance.

4th repeat of this great 12m cat platform. Like Pure Snorkelling this one has been built under licence by the team at BME NQ

Another one out the door this morning to finish off on the water over the next 2 weeks. Needed to make room for our next project, a 15 meter build for Bullet in Airlie Beach. Stay tuned for some water tests over the next couple of weeks.

Designed by CTMD and built by Alumarine (now Zed-Marine) for Gippsland Ports, the 7.5m “Rigby” is a very capable little boat. She features removable sides and accessible roof (with fall arrest post) to facilitate serving of marks and maritime structures along with a 1.5 Tonne payload and remote operated electro-hydraulic crane. The windscreen slides open to facilitate easy communication between helm and crew.

12m passenger cat from BME NQ. Plumb bows allow the boat to be nosed up to loading facilities and also maximise water line length.

This 12-metre commercial vessel is nearing completion, with its robust hull and superstructure ready for final fit-out. Designed for the demanding conditions of the Torres Strait, it will deliver safe and comfortable passenger transport between the islands. Once equipped with seating & safety gear it will provide an essential link for local communities and enhance everyday marine connectivity.

Project Delivery: The "Christmas Express" ❄️🦌**

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful delivery of our latest custom vessel, commissioned directly by Mrs. Claus and the North Pole executive team.

CTMD was honored to be selected to provide the complete naval architecture and build management for this specialized landing craft. The brief was unique, to say the least: design a vessel capable of navigating icy polar waters while ensuring the safe, stable transport of high-value, live cargo (the A-team reindeer herd).

Key design features included:

* Ice-reinforced hull for operating in extreme high-latitude environments.
* Shallow draft capabilities for beach landings on ice shelves.
* Heavy-duty bow ramp engineered specifically for rapid reindeer deployment.

Seeing the "Christmas Express" in action, facilitating these critical pre-Christmas movements, is a testament to the hard work of the build team and the precision of the design.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Claus for trusting CTMD to bring this concept to reality. We are delighted to play a technical role in ensuring the big night goes off without a hitch!
