A couple of important payment changes are now in effect, and there are a few practical things businesses may need to review.

Card surcharges can no longer be added separately for Visa, Mastercard, American Express or eftpos payments, and from December the ATO will also stop accepting credit card payments.

If your business has relied on either of these, now is a good time to check your payment settings, pricing and any ATO payment arrangements.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has today increased the official cash rate to 4.60%.

The decision follows three earlier rate increases this year, with the RBA noting that a number of upside risks to inflation are now materialising.
