We’re welcoming Megan from Meg & Tam - Canowindra & Surrounds Florist back to ChaLou this spring for an afternoon of wreath making, good wine and good company.

Megan will guide us through making a seasonal wreath using locally grown and naturally dried flowers, with everything you need provided and a glass of ChaLou wine on arrival.

Sunday 1st November | 1pm–2:30pm

It’s International Dog Day so a little appreciation for our General Manager, Barnacle.

Usually the first to greet you at the car, he’ll lead the way to the cellar door, join you for a vineyard walk or keep an eye on things around the winery. He’s also Steve’s best mate and constant companion.

And we can’t forget a shout out to his number one girlfriend, Beatrix 😉

Come out for a tasting and there’s a good chance Barnacle will be here to welcome you.

A little look back at Dreaded Friend and the people, place and vines behind it.

It’s a little bittersweet to see the last of these wines leave the cellar but we’re pretty excited about what’s ahead too.

We put a lot into these wines – growing them here at our vineyard in Orange, working with each season as it comes and trying to make wines that feel true to where they’re from.

Wine has a funny way of keeping people connected.

Jared, Dan and I met while studying wine at university. Since then, we’ve each gone our own way, making wine in different regions and doing our own thing.

This August, we’re bringing the three labels back together at Jilly Wine Co.’s new cellar door in Clunes.

We’ll be pouring wines from ChaLou, Jilly Wine Co. and Sigurd, alongside a few snacks. A relaxed afternoon in Jilly’s beautiful new space, catching up, sharing a few stories and enjoying some good company.

What’s Pouring. Summer St Wine Room

Wine: ChaLou 2025 Chardonnay (96 Halliday points)
Song pairing: Somber — Undressed
Food pairing: All Cheese with house-made lavosh, quince paste, hazelnuts & almonds.

We recently stopped by Summer St Wine Room, one of our favourite places for a long lunch, dinner with friends or simply a really good glass of wine.

This pairing quietly gets everything right. The richness of the cheese is balanced by the Chardonnay’s freshness and texture, making each bite (and sip) better than the last.

If you’re visiting Orange, we’d recommend ordering a glass of Chardonnay, starting with the cheese board and letting the evening unfold.

This week we bottled two of our aromatic whites from the 2026 vintage, our off-dry Riesling and textural Pinot Gris. We also bottled the 2025 Syrah, along with the first vintage of our Quixotic Syrah🍷

Bottling marks the end of one chapter but it’s far from the end of the wine’s story. From here, each wine will continue to evolve quietly in bottle until the time is right.

We can’t wait to share them with you.

It’s finally starting to feel like winter ❄️

There’s something pretty magical about this time of year in Orange. Frosty mornings, crisp air and beautiful views around every corner.

The drive to ChaLou is all part of the winter experience. Winding through rolling hills, past glassy dams and pockets of morning mist, with a little more magic around every corner.
