Earlier this month our very own Chewy competed in an arm wrestle against Greg from Hoosegg as part of MP Philip Donato Men's Health Week event 'Gettin-A-Grip', a competition designed to spark conversation, raise awareness, and encourage men to prioritise their health - because it matters 💪
Men’s health remains a critical issue in Australia:
- Major causes of death for men include coronary heart disease, lung cancer, stroke, and chronic respiratory disease
- Su***de is the leading external cause of death in men
- Around 7 men die by su***de every day in Australia
- Men account for approximately 76.5% of all su***de deaths
- Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men (3,800+ deaths annually)
- Men in regional and remote areas face significantly higher risks
The event was a high-energy and fun way to start a conversation, break down barriers and remind men to take control of both their physical and mental health.
