Ross Hill Wines is a family run operation established in 1994 by Peter and Terri Robson with son James and his wife Chrissy now taking the helm. It is the first Australian winery to be certified under the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Program. The two vineyards, Wallace Lane & Griffin Road, are planted in mature basalt soils at high altitudes that carry through into the wines. Varieties planted in

clude Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Our Cellar Door is located at the end of Wallace Lane in the cool climate region of Orange in the Central West of NSW. Here, in an old, converted apple packing shed, you’ll find the award winning winemakers hard at work. Come and meet our friendly team who will take you on the Ross Hill journey. Stop by sometime.

We're really excited to see Ross Hill Wines featured in the September issue of as part of their Local's Guide to Orange.

It's always a pleasure to see our region in the spotlight, especially alongside so many of our favourite local restaurants, cafés, shops and places to stay. One of the best things about visiting Orange is that there's always another great meal to enjoy, another local business to discover and, of course, another glass of cool-climate wine to share.

If you're planning a spring escape for the october long weekend or Orange Wine Festival, this guide is full of inspiration.

A big thank you to Country Style for celebrating everything that makes Orange such a special place to visit.

Cheers to supporting local. 🍷

International Cabernet Day - A day worth celebrating!

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc have both been part of what we do for a long time, so it’s extra nice to have a couple of reasons to raise a glass this year.

Our 2024 Pinnacle Cabernet Sauvignon and 2024 Pinnacle Cabernet Franc have both picked up 95 points in the Halliday Wine Companion, along with some lovely reviews from other wine writers.

Two different Cabernets, two very different personalities, and both a pretty good excuse to open a bottle today.

Cheers to Cabernet. 🍷

Earlier this week, the rain rolled through and left us with this amazing double rainbow over the vineyard at Wallace Lane.

We’ll take the rain, the rainbow and the promise of a warm weekend.

Cheers to Friday!

🍇 Wine Wednesday

This Wine Wednesday, we’re looking back at a tasting we did for our 2022 Pinnacle Blanc de Blanc.

Ahead of disgorgement, we tasted three different dosage samples, each with subtle differences in balance and style. Three samples, plenty of tasting and a bit of discussion later, we settled on the one we thought worked best for the wine.

We’re pretty happy with the choice and even happier that it’s now available on our website. Time to give it a try. 🥂

Five Red Stars at Ross Hill 🍷

We're proud to share that Ross Hill Wines has been awarded a Top 5 Red Star Rating in the 2027 Halliday Wine Companion.

This marks 16 years of 5-star recognition, including our now 12 years with a 5 Red Star rating. A Top Red 5 Star is Halliday's highest winery recognition, reserved for wineries with a long track record of excellence - truly the best of the best.

To top it off we took out the highest rating in Orange NSW. We're pretty chuffed, especially given the calibre of wineries in Orange.

Join us tonight and celebrate with a glass of your favourite Ross Hill wine. Cheers.

Well… we’re officially calling it.

The fires might have cooled down, the last slice of pizza has been eaten, and we’re just about recovered from one cracking Fire Festival weekend!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Ross Hill for our Fire, Pizza, Music and Wine Night and Fire Cooking Masterclass. We may have had all the fires burning but you brought the real warmth. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate winter in Orange.

And to our incredible team and local suppliers who made it all happen, thank you. We couldn't do weekends like this without you. A special shout out to Adrian from Arancia, Clancy Pye, Carmela, and Michael Manners.

Here are a few photos from the weekend. If you were there, tag yourself and your mates, and relive these moments with us.

Cheers to doing it all again next year!

🔥 A little more room around the fire.

The forecast is looking good for Friday, so we’ve opened up a few more tickets for Fire Festival.

We’re getting ready to light the fires at Wallace Lane, fire up the pizza oven and pour the mulled wine, with live music from .pye, wood-fired pizza from and plenty of Ross Hill wine to go around.

It’s shaping up to be a pretty good winter night among the vines.

Friday 14 August | Pizza, Wine & Music Night
6pm to 9pm | 18+ event

A few more tickets are now available. Grab yours here before they’re gone:
