Nashdale Vineyard & Cellar Door Update:

To supplement the fruit provided by Gerald from his Lucknow vineyard, we took over 2.5 Hectares of vineyards at the 432 Cargo Road site in early 2026 and have been working with our viticulturalist on how best to renovate these.

Currently the vineyard is planted to Shiraz. We plan to convert some of this to other varieties which will support the Patina product range.

Around twelve rows will be grafted over to Pinot Gris in late 2026, and these vines should produce for vintage 2028. The Shiraz vines which do remain will be substantially reworked, end of life vines will be removed and replaced. This renovation will be carried based on organic principles, with a special shout out to James at Cargo Road Wines who lent me his flock of sheep to clear grasses, weeds and residual grape material from around the vines as an alternative to herbicides.

The harvest for 2026 has come to an end. The season continued to be a challenging one, with unsettled weather impacting the timing of picking. However, the grapes were all in great condition and I'm pleased with the results.

Planning for the new cellar door in Nashdale (432 Cargo Road) is developing nicely. We are planning an Open Day for later in the year, when we look forward to showcasing our new 2026 vintages wines as well as a few old favourites from the cellar.

What a weekend! The family got the call up for a working bee at the new cellar door. Grass mowed, gardens weeded, whipper snipped and a general tidy-up. Good fun, and a rewarding glass of Chardonnay to celebrate. We can’t wait to open the doors.
