The September quarter closes on 30 September — are you ready?

A few things to have sorted:
✅ Bank feeds reconciled
✅ Receipts and bills uploaded
✅ Payroll and STP finalised for the quarter
✅ Any personal spend coded correctly
✅ Have you handled GST correctly

💳 Card surcharges end 1 October 2026

From next month you can't surcharge card payments — Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and Amex.

Two things to do before then: switch surcharges off in your POS, invoices and online checkout, and check what your merchant fees will be, since interchange rates are dropping too.

The ATO isn't letting this one go.

Four more people have been sentenced under Operation Protego for fraudulently obtaining over $500,000 — registering ABNs, creating fake businesses, and lodging BAS for refunds they were never entitled to.

If you've seen "easy ATO refund" tips on social media, that's not a loophole. It's fraud.
