This sonnet, written in pencil, was recovered with his body and personal effects after he was killed at the Battle of Loos (Western Front).

Today, as we pause on ANZAC Day, we honour not only the fallen, but also the men and women who have served and continue to serve. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the freedoms they fought to protect.
Lest we forget.
