Submitting a development application? One of the biggest causes of delays isn’t major design flaws. It’s the small, overlooked details.

Councils frequently request additional information to ensure compliance, and in many cases, these requests come down to three commonly missed areas:

• Driveway and parking design
• Site facilities
• Trees and vegetation management

Missing information on these elements can lead to Requests for Information (RFI) or Requests for Documentation (RFD), slowing down your approval timeline.

By understanding and addressing these requirements early in the design process, you can streamline approvals, reduce back and forth with Council, and keep your project moving forward.

Avoid development approval delays by addressing driveway design, site facilities, and tree management early to meet council requirements and reduce RFIs.

Designing within constraints doesn’t mean compromising on outcomes.

Our latest case study shows how we secured planning approval for two double-storey dwellings on a 544 m² undersized site, without a single RFI from Council.

By focusing on alternative designs, maximising landscaping, and providing robust stormwater solutions, we achieved a great result for both our client and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Discover how we secured planning approval for two double-storey dwellings on a 544m² undersized site, with no RFIs and minimal Council delays.
