🌸 If payment hasn’t been received within a few days, follow up with the client
🌸 The longer an invoice is left unpaid, the less likely it is to be paid

I took some time off from my business last week for a general break and to spend time with my family.

I haven’t always been able to take a break away from my business like this but after 4 years I realised that I needed to set things up for myself so I could take a break (and get paid) because no one was going to do this for me.

So, I sat down at my laptop, opened a new spreadsheet and started adding in some figures to create a basic business budget - I added my client income, business expenses, tax, and accounted for the public holidays, annual leave and sick leave.

Needless to say I was shocked! I couldn’t believe how much this brought my hourly rate and yearly income/revenue down by. I had to take action!!

This was 12 months ago, and I’m very proud to say that after sitting down and taking a good hard look at the real numbers of my business and implementing some real changes I can confidently take paid holidays and sick leave and know that my business and income is still on track.

A weekly bookkeeping service where I jump into your accounting software and reconcile:

🌸 these are also reconciled in your practice management software
🌸 business expenses are matched up with invoices and receipts before I reconcile them ensuring compliance
🌸 supplier invoices can be added as bills to pay so you know what expenses are coming up
🌸 owners drawings are reconciled
🌸 suggestions can be made to help manage bigger unexpected bills including managing tax debts
