Last week our director, Crystal Paduch, was contacted for comment in the latest Women's Agenda child support news article.
Have a read, link in bio, and let us know your thoughts!
Crystal was invited by journalist Carolyn Tate Women's Divorce Academy by Carolyn Tate to provide expert commentary and real-life case studies for this important discussion about Services Australia’s latest child support “crackdown” and who it is really impacting.
This article showcases two women, two very different stories and one system that let them both down.
Working with Australian parents navigating the child support system for over 17 years, Crystal has seen firsthand the real and raw impact of what ‘falling between the cracks’ actually looks like.
Crystal shares in the article:
“The real problems – money hidden in trusts, companies, partners’ accounts, overseas – they haven’t fixed.”
Crystal doesn’t stand against the child support system, she stands behind its purpose and making sure that purpose is not lost.
Every day, we work with parents and Services Australia alike to help the legislation be applied fairly, accurately and in a way that reflects the unique circumstances of each family. So, while we often advocate for reform, our work is not about criticising the system, it’s about helping parents navigate it, helping decision makers see the full picture and contributing a valuable resource of a team of specialist expert representatives to improve the communication between the agency and the parents who use it.
A huge thank you to Carolyn Tate Carolyn Tate for shining a light on an issue that affects so many Australian families and for giving me the opportunity to contribute to such an important conversation.
