If you’re a local filmmaker, join us on Wednesday 5 August for the next Sunshine Coast Screen Collective meetup.

We’ll be joined by Rob Hopping (Founder/CEO, Heritage Films) for a frank discussion around how to get your film seen!

Rob will focus on the shifting distribution and theatrical release platforms and how to best position your film to succeed within the ever-changing market climates today.

Heritage Films has earned a unique reputation for building trusted relationships across both the entertainment industry and the communities stories are created to serve. Those relationships have helped bring more than 2,000 films to audiences, while shaping new ways for people to discover, experience and connect with meaningful stories beyond traditional distribution.

Driven by a belief that great stories deserve engaged audiences, Heritage has continued to build platforms that strengthen that connection. This includes Wonder, a global streaming and audience engagement ecosystem, alongside Wonder Events, a community screening platform that gives local organisations and grassroots communities the tools to discover, host and share the stories that matter most to them.

Founded in Queensland in 2004, Heritage works with producers, distributors, broadcasters and platform partners across the world. At the heart of everything we do is the privilege of helping storytellers bridge the gap between creation and connection, ensuring every film has the opportunity to find the audience it was made to reach.

We’ll kick off the evening at 6pm with networking over gourmet pizza and drinks thanks to our wonderful sponsors, Bendigo Community Bank Sunshine Coast

RSVPs are a must (free for SCSC members) via https://app.glueup.com/event/distribution-audiences-impact-getting-your-film-seen-in-todays-market-186903/?mc_cid=334602da3b&mc_eid=UNIQID

Join us at next week's Coding from Beach meetup (Thursday 2 July, 6-8pm) - for a fascinating show 'n tell, "Meet my Agent".

Many in our CfB community have been building AI agents. They're getting smarter, more reliable, and more self-driving. We want to meet them.

So this month's format is rapid fire "Meet my agent" show & tell. Don't worry about slides. Plug in and show the crew:

This is my agent
This is what it does
This is how it works

Coders, Engineers, newbies to AI, teachers, high school/Uni/TAFE students - you're all welcome to come along.

We'll also be sharing details for Vibecamp coming up in late-Aug at Habitat Noosa, and giving attendees the early bird option!

Join us on Wednesday 15 July for the first ever ProductTank Sunshine Coast meetup!

The group's opening speaker is Richard Low, with a talk that asks a deceptively simple question: What gets more valuable when everything gets easier?

AI is making the traditional work of product management dramatically easier. PRDs in minutes. Customer interviews synthesised instantly. Prototypes built in hours, not weeks. So if everything is getting easier, what becomes more valuable?

Drawing on real-world examples, live demos and a few hard-earned battle scars from building AI-powered products and agents, Richard will dig into:

→ Where AI delivers, and where it falls short
→ The traps that catch even experienced teams
→ How the PM role is evolving as building gets cheaper
→ Why finding the right problems matters most

🗓️ Wednesday 15 July, 5:30pm to 7.30pm

Space is limited, so save your spot (it's free to attend): https://www.meetup.com/producttank-sunshine-coast/events/315263636/?eventOrigin=group_upcoming_events

Thanks to ProductTank Sunshine Coast's founding sponsor Hide and Seek Digital - for the pizza and drinks!

-------
What is ProductTank and who should attend?

ProductTank Sunshine Coast is for anyone who works on products. Product managers, designers, engineers, researchers, marketers, founders, analysts, whatever your title, if you care about building things people actually use and love, you belong here.

We get together to swap ideas and experiences across product design, delivery, strategy, business modelling, metrics, user experience, and all the other stuff that gets us nerding out.

Events will be a mix of talks from guest speakers, proper networking, and a good old fashioned chin-wag over a beer or two. Companies big and small are welcome, along with early stage teams trying to get off ground.

We're also part of a global community. Read or contribute to the blog at mindtheproduct.com, and check out the world's largest product conferences at mtpcon.com
