Fresh Delivery ‼️ New Mitsubishi S12R Marine Engine from Japan. We will prep this engine for a new fishing trawler in Port Lincoln and pair it with a Reintjes gear box. We can’t wait to see it in action soon.

Just landed - new S12R Marine Engine. Straight off the ship from Japan to our workshop in O’Connor, we will prep this engine for a new fishing trawler In Port Lincoln. This engine is 1,040 kW at 1600 RPM. Or 1,394 HP.

Progress update from Oceania Power & Solutions.

These twin 500kVA generator sets powered by Mitsubishi S6A3 engines are starting to take shape in our O'Connor workshop.

Still work to do — wiring, sensors, controls and commissioning are next — but it is always satisfying seeing a project move from components into complete power systems.

These units are being prepared for a commercial fishing vessel operating out of Port Lincoln.

We will share another update once they come to life.

🔧 Our Fleet Engineer, Tony Patterson, recently joined on a remarkable tour of Japan’s leading marine manufacturing facilities. ⛴

The visit included Nakashima Propeller, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ turbocharger and engine plants, and the Mitsubishi Fuso factory - offering firsthand insight into world-class engineering, precision manufacturing, and sustainability-focused innovation.

Between bullet train rides, cultural stops at Asakusa Temple and Tokyo Skytree, and engaging conversations with industry leaders, Tony gained valuable knowledge on propeller technology, automation, and quality control- even spotting the same engine we will be installing as part of our fleet upgrade!

An inspiring and informative experience, strengthening both technical understanding and industry relationships.

Great work, Tony—what a trip, and a fantastic job representing Austral throughout.
