Today, we thank SES volunteers and all those who give their time to help others by giving their time, energy and skills to support people through storms, floods and other emergencies.

The West Australian State Emergency Service (WA-SES) is a division of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) made up of approximately 2100 volunteers from every walk of life, who give up their time to help others during emergency situations.
This year, WOW Day also falls during National Volunteer Week, with the theme Your Year to Volunteer. It is a timely reminder of the value volunteers bring to our communities, and the difference people can make when they choose to get involved.
At SETS, we know many strong careers in emergency response start with a willingness to serve, learn and show up for others.
Volunteering builds experience, teamwork and confidence, and it plays an important role in strengthening emergency response capability across Australia.
If volunteering is something you have been thinking about, take this as your sign to explore how you can get involved and build skills that matter.
