Our team recently had the pleasure of attending the KDCCI Career Expo in Karratha, where Industry Training Consultants Crystal Moko and Marie Aquino, alongside mentor Lovelygee Maclagan, represented Apprenticeship Support Australia - WA.

With over 1,000 students from four local high schools filling the expo floor, it was an incredible opportunity to connect with Year 10–12 students and share how School Based Traineeships (SBTs) can kickstart their career journey - earning while they learn!

Beyond the students, the event was a wonderful chance to network with local Karratha businesses, strengthening the partnerships that help us connect young people with great opportunities in their own backyard.

A huge thank you to KDCCI for hosting such a well-attended and impactful event. We love being part of moments that shape futures! 💼✨

Last week, Apprenticeship Support Australia’s Kimberley Mentor Support Officer Adam Selby joined carpentry and engineering apprentices at North Regional TAFE’s Broome campus for a networking lunch and catch-up session.

The event brought together 16 apprentices from across the Kimberley region — including four First Nations apprentices — with some travelling from as far as Kununurra. 💎

The session gave apprentices the chance to connect, share stories from the worksite and chat about how things are going both on the job and at TAFE. Adam spent time catching up with the group, answering questions and talking through the mentoring support, apprentice incentives and career pathways available throughout their apprenticeship journey.

Opportunities like this play an important role in helping regional apprentices feel supported, connected and confident as they work towards completing their training and building their careers. 💪

Last week, our very own Janine Elizabeth and Adam Selby headed to Broome to represent Apprenticeship Support Australia (WA) at the Stars Foundation Kimberley Futures Forum 2026, hosted at The University of Notre Dame Australia.

The forum brought together Year 10, 11 and 12 First Nations female students from Broome Senior High School and Fitzroy Valley District High School to explore career pathways, training opportunities and post-school support networks.

Janine and Adam had a great time connecting with students, answering questions and sharing information about apprenticeships, traineeships, mentoring support and employment pathways available across the Kimberley region.

It's so important that young people in our communities know the opportunities available to them, and we're proud to play a part in helping First Nations students take the next step toward their career goals.

We loved being part of the Future. What an incredible day connecting with passionate people who care deeply about the future of the Wheatbelt! 💛
