💚 World Mental Health Day

When you’re the person everyone else relies on, it can be easy to forget that you need support too.

Business ownership brings freedom and opportunity, but it can also bring pressure, responsibility and decisions that are difficult to leave at the office.

Looking after yourself isn’t separate from looking after your business. Having people you can talk openly with, taking time to step away and recognising when you need support all matter.

Having people around you who understand the realities of business ownership can make the weight of running a business feel a little lighter.

With World Mental Health Day tomorrow, it’s a timely reminder of the difference a conversation can make.

As AI changes the way we work, one thing isn’t changing: business owners still need other people.

AI can help us analyse information, work faster and think through increasingly complex problems.

But there are things it can't replicate.

Having another business owner across the table who understands the reality of running a business. Someone prepared to listen, challenge your thinking, offer a different perspective, and hold you accountable for what you said you were going to do.

As technology continues to change the way we work, those human connections may become more valuable, not less.

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month - a timely reminder that cyber security isn’t just an IT issue. It’s a business issue.

A proud night for The Alternative Board Australia 🏆

With The Alternative Board spanning 27 countries, recognition on the global stage is something pretty special.

At our Global Conference in Denver, Claire Wilson, Master Franchisor of The Alternative Board Australia, was named Master of the Year.

And there was plenty more Australian recognition to celebrate.

Louise Mooney, Darren Cron, Leo Aspite and Andrew Lawrence received six nominations between them for the global CALIBRE Awards, while Stephen Pelosi was nominated for StratPro Facilitator of the Year.

To see so many people from our Australian community recognised amongst their counterparts from around the world is something we’re incredibly proud of.
