Congratulations to Geraldine Atkinson on her OAM. I worked alongside Geraldine many years ago on a piece of research. During this time Geraldine and the other SNAICC members taught me so much. Geraldine was generous with her knowledge and for that i am all grateful. She has been a strong advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families for so long. Well deserved Geraldine! 🎖️

Congratulations to Ros Cornish on her OAM. I worked alongside Ros on the Board of Early Childhood Australia for many years. Ros is a ferocious advocate for children always putting them first. She understands the sector better than most and always stepped up to speak on behalf of educators, challenging and holding many high ranking politicians to account over the years. I am honoured to have worked alongside Ros and to have learned so much from her. Well done Ros! 🎖️

Consent isn't always s*xual!

It’s important to teach children about consent and their bodies long before it has anything to do with s*x. It’s also important to teach children how to react when someone doesn’t give consent.

Teaching consent is about permission, kindness, empathy and how to respect ourselves and other people.

There are many age-appropriate ways to teach consent and we cover this in our “Consent in Primary School Years” program
