Deb built her Squarespace site herself when she was a lampshade maker. FUN. Then she pivoted to teaching workshops. Then a corporate client fell in her lap. The website didn't get the memo.

When I turned up she had three super rad offers, major credibility, companies literally booking her on repeat... and a site that still read like "come do crafts with me hehe." Which, cute, but not the vibe when you're pitching to corporates.

I suggested scrapping the whole multi-page thing and just doing one strong page instead and she replied "shut the front door - a one pager actually makes SO MUCH SENSE" which made me feel very clever and cool so is genuinely one of my favourite client reactions ever.

It's just that when your aim is really to grab attention so that people get in touch, you kind of don't need ten pages. You can get away with one really good one.

We also built out a new whole brand direction to go with it because her logo was cute but needed some friends. Fonts, colours, y'know. AND she had a custom font that she made from her own handwriting which we absolutely used because why would you not.

Anyway. The site now looks both professional but fun af. Just like Deb. Go have a look.

If you want a one page site, I got you. Enquiry form in the usual spot.

Okay I need to show you Tessa's new website because I love it.

Tessa photographs families, newborns and pretty much everything out in Wandoan and a western Downs in Queensland and her work has always been stunning but her site was kind of just fine, y'know.

So we did a VIP Day and I disappeared into my cave and went all in on the whole thing. Every page got a layout overhaul, we refreshed her fonts and colour palette, I found these little illustrations that are super cute and we just added so much more of her actual personality throughout - more behind the scenes shots, little personal moments, the kind of stuff that makes someone feel like they know her before they've even sent an enquiry because who she is really informs how she works.

So here is it, such a fun project to work on!

Anyway. If your site has been on your to-do list for approximately one million years and you just want someone to handle it, VIP Days are open and I would love to do more of these. Enquiry form in the link place.

One Page is all it takes (sometimes). Well thought out. Functional. Extremely good looking.

Not a stepping stone to the "real" thing. The right thing for right now.

And before you ask - yes you can fit everything on a one oage website. No it won't go on forever like a Chemist Warehouse receipt. Yes I've done this before.

Enquiry form in the usual spot if you're ready to stop waiting for the sign (this is the sign).

Been watching photographers spiral about their websites for long enough to notice some patterns.

Sharing what I've learned from doing this for a while (and also from being a web designer who had no website for four years, so like. The audacity. But also the clarity.)

If your website's been sitting on your to-do list somewhere between 'book that dental appointment' and 'figure out what to do with all these USB cables'... this one's for you.

Alana’s site was genuinely good. She bought the template, filled it all out, made it make sense, and kept it rolling while her business grew. She did everything she could with the tools she had. Honestly, admirable. You don't see me trying to film and edit anything.

But she’s a photographer and videographer with a million things to juggle, and at some point she realised she did not, in fact, want “website upkeep” to become her third unofficial side-hustle. Fair.

So in I trot for a wee VIP Day. Her work has shifted into this nostalgic, intimate, memory-heavy vibe. The kind that makes mums cry (in a good way ), and her site wasn't giving that energy.

We did a mini brand refresh, warmed things up, added some texture, changed up her colours, and made it feel more like you were stepping right into one of her sessions, instead of just reading about it.

Then we restructured the whole flow so people can move through it without getting feeling a little lost or tired. Same content. Totally different experience.

Swipe for the before-and-afters. This all happened in one VIP Day because sometimes you just need someone who likes doing this stuff to hyperfocus on it, and take it off your plate.

If your site feels a bit like “yeah it’s fine but also if I have to open Showit one more time I might simply walk into the lake,” that’s your cue. You don’t need to be doing every job yourself.

You haven’t sorted your website yet because every time you open the editor, something unholy happens. A button moves. A font changes. A whole section disappears like it witnessed a crime. Suddenly you’re whispering “not today” and closing the tab like it’s cursed.

Or you’re clinging to the fantasy that you’ll fix it “when life settles down,” which is wild because life has never settled down. Not once. Not even for ten minutes. You’re basically running a business on vibes and caffeine and I respect that.

Meanwhile your poor website is quietly doing f all while you’re out here delivering the goods. And honestly? Enough. Put the DIY attempts down gently. They’ve tried their best. You’ve tried your best. Everyone’s tired.

This is the part where I swoop in, grab the chaotic pile of ideas in your brain, translate it into something that makes sense, make it look hot, and hand it back to you like “there you go babe, it’s handled.” I live for this sh it.

I’ve got space for maybe one One Page Site or a couple VIP Days before I vanish home to Aotearoa for the hols. Next proper availability is Feb 2026, and those spots go fast because apparently everyone wakes up at the same time and decides they’re done living in a website timewarp.

If you want this off your list, like OFF off, not haunting you at 11pm, I got you.

Link in bio / hold your phone to the sky like Simba / trust the internet to do the rest.

I’ll tell you exactly what you need and what you don’t. And absolutely no calls. I’m not built for that.
