Looking for information about the West Metro Recycling Centre? Here's a rundown of everything you need to know if you're planning on paying us a visit.

πŸ“ Location: We're located on the corner of Brockway Rd and Lemnos St in Shenton Park (the entrance is off Brockway Rd).

πŸ•– Opening hours: We're open every day except Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Our regular opening hours are 7.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am - 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday.

πŸ’² Fees and charges: Residents of our Member and Participating Councils receive discounted disposal rates (proof of address is required). Our Member Councils are Town of Cottesloe, Town of Claremont, City of Subiaco, Town of Mosman Park and Shire of Peppermint Grove. Our Participating Councils are Town of Cambridge and City of Nedlands.

βœ… We accept the following items for free: cardboard, polystyrene, plastic lids, corks, e-waste, scrap metal, batteries, x-rays, household chemicals, paint, sports equipment, clothing donations and bikes.

βœ… We accept these items for a fee: greenwaste, general bulk waste, construction and demolition waste, mattresses, fridges, air conditioners, tyres and asbestos.

🌱 Free mulch: We have a pile of free mulch available to residents of our Member and Participating Councils - just be sure to bring proof of residency with you (eg. driver's licence or rates notice), and be aware that you'll need to shovel and transport it yourself.

This festive season, we'll be open to take your waste and recycling every day except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, with reduced trading hours over the Christmas period.

Our opening hours will be a little different on Friday 2 December 2022. Thanks for your understanding!

The West Metro Recycling Centre will close early (12.30pm) on Friday 2 December 2022. This is to allow our staff a well-deserved break to celebrate all we have achieved this year. The site, office and all phone lines will not be attended after this time.

We recommend planning your visit for the morning or when we reopen at 8.00am on Saturday 3 December. Thanks for your understanding!

Good news! The West Metro Recycling Centre is open all weekend 😊 Check out the opening hours below and we'll see you for all your community recycling and waste disposal needs.

Our Recycling Hotline will be open to call on Friday, but we'll be taking a break today and the rest of the long weekend and will be back on Tuesday πŸ‘

Residents can drop off up to 100L per resident per day thanks to our partnership with Paintback πŸ˜„

Giving your shed a spring clean? πŸ›‘ don't bin or pour any paint down your sink! Bring it to the West Metro Recycling Centre or other Paintback drop off points to have it disposed of safely, recycled and in some cases, even used for energy production! Did you know that up to 75% of your old mattress can be recycled if you bring it to the West Metro Recycling Centre?♻️ The springs, foam, textiles and timber can be used to produce metal roofing, carpet underlay, acoustic panels and mulch. Mattresses at our site are collected by Soft Landing, a social enterprise saving our mattresses from landfill and creating jobs for people who need it most. Prices per mattress start at $45.
