Congratulations to all who took part in the 2026 ERT Challenge during the recent Leonora Golden Gift weekend.

The challenge provided an excellent opportunity for our emergency response personnel to put their training into practice in a fast-paced and competitive environment, testing rope rescue techniques, hose deployment, casualty movement, fitness, and teamwork.

Well done to our Leonora and Laverton teams who came in second and fourth, and congratulations to Northern Star WA Operations Thunderbox who took out first place.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and participating in the event and to the local volunteer DFES members who helped out. We can’t wait to be back in 2027!

We're so proud to partner with the Shire of Leonora for the Leonora Golden Gift which features the iconic Elite Mile, Australia's richest mile running race along the dusty main street of Leonora.

A special shout out to our team of volunteers who got involved in all the action throughout the weekend, and after many years of trying, we finally won the Boot Race! 🏆

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Genesis Minerals Limited tent for a chat and to learn more about what we do. It was great to see some new, and familiar faces.

The Leonora Golden Gift is not only a much-loved event bringing the town together, but it is a great way for us to give back to the community we work and live in. Our people love volunteering and helping throughout the weekend, and we can't wait to take part next year!

Congratulations to all the competitors and winners from across the weekend, and a huge thanks to the organisers who put together this awesome community event.

On World Water Day, we’re reminded that in Western Australia, water is more than a resource - it’s a shared responsibility.

At Genesis, responsible water management is not just compliance; it’s fundamental to how we respect the land and the communities we work alongside. We recognise water is a finite commodity with competing interests across industry, communities, agriculture, and the environment.

Managing it well requires a long-term, sustainable approach grounded in stewardship and consultation with Traditional Owners, communities, pastoralists, and stakeholders.

While there is always more to do, World Water Day is a reminder of why it matters and of our commitment to using water efficiently, reducing our impact, and contributing to a more sustainable future for Western Australia.

The Christmas spirit was in full force for the students at Mt Margaret Remote Community School. 🎅

With a direct line to Santa, Genesis Minerals, Sodexo Australia, Gold Fields Australia, and Glencore were able to help Santa read through all the letters to make sure everyone received something special.

We also joined the team at Glencore and elders from Leonora for lunch to get in the festive spirit. Each elder received a hamper full of goodies.

And to add to the festive fun, we dropped off a carload of donations to Foodbank to help those in need during the Christmas period. ❤️
