We welcomed the Hon. Tim Ayres, Minister for Industry and Innovation, to our Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Mine this morning, following the recent commencement of antimony and production.

Minister Ayres toured the upgraded processing plant and underground mine, met members of the Hillgrove team and saw firsthand the stibnite mineralisation that will underpin Australia’s largest source of antimony production.

The visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate Hillgrove’s role in building Australia’s critical minerals capability and delivering a globally significant new source of antimony at a time when securing reliable supply has become a strategic priority for governments around the world.

Thank you to Minister Ayres for taking the time to visit Hillgrove and meet the team.

We’re now producing and at our Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Mine, marking a major milestone for Larvotto and establishing a significant new source of antimony outside China-controlled supply.

Managing Director Ron Heeks joined Oriel Morrison to discuss Hillgrove’s transition into production, with the operation expected to supply ~7% of global antimony demand and more than 50% of supply outside China-controlled sources. With the plant now operating, our focus is on ramping up production and delivering our first concentrate as we continue building Hillgrove into a globally significant antimony operation.

We are now in production at our 100%-owned Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Mine in New South Wales, representing the completion of an extensive redevelopment and plant upgrade program to World Best Practice standard.

Hillgrove is expected to supply ~7% of global antimony demand and over 50% of supply outside of China controlled sources, establishing it as a globally significant antimony operation.

Larvotto is now Australia’s second, and by far the largest, antimony producer, delivering a significant new source of supply amid increasing global focus on secure critical mineral supply.

We are focused on growing Hillgrove into a multi-decade mining centre through ongoing exploration programs across the wider Hillgrove Project, while expanding our critical mineral production profile, including the addition of tungsten.

Yesterday we welcomed freelance mining journalist Kristie Batten and Paydirt journalist Michael Cameron to our Hillgrove Mine in New South Wales for a firsthand look at the operation ahead of first gold and antimony production.

With first production anticipated within a week, Hillgrove is on the verge of an important milestone. Larvotto will become only the second antimony producer in Australia, and the largest, with Hillgrove expected to produce ~7% of global antimony demand, making it a globally significant mine.

It was great to show Kristie and Michael around the site and share the progress being made as we bring Hillgrove back into production and continue building Australia’s critical minerals capability.

Keep an eye out next week for the Mining.com.au interviews from site.

The countdown is on to first production at our Hillgrove Mine scheduled to occur this month, with staged commissioning underway. Hillgrove will become Australia’s second and largest antimony operation, and one of the largest globally, producing 4,900t of antimony and 40,500 oz of gold annually.

Once in production, Hillgrove is expected to supply around 7% of global antimony demand, and a considerably larger share when China is excluded.

With first production now just weeks away, Larvotto is moving closer to becoming a significant new producer of a critical mineral that is increasingly important to global supply chains.

The ball mill fired up for the first time last week and it was great to see the next phase of the processing plant turning, with wet commissioning officially underway. For the Larvotto team, it was another exciting and highly visible milestone as we continue the staged commissioning of the Hillgrove plant. The ball mill is part of the grinding circuit and the start of the wet phase.

With major components of the processing plant progressively coming online, we are getting closer to first production and establishing Hillgrove as Australia’s largest antimony producing mine.

We've commenced staged commissioning of the Minerals Processing Facility at the Hillgrove Mine, with first ore being crushed and placed in the fine ore bin ready to feed to the grinding circuit.

Primary, secondary, closed-circuit screening and fine ore storage is underway, with ore mined from the Metz underground mine being used for commissioning.

The Hillgrove Mine is set to become Australia's second and largest producing antimony mine. The operation is forecast to produce approximately 4,900 tonnes of antimony and more than 40,000 ounces of gold annually over the current seven-year mine life, while metallurgical testwork on producing a tungsten concentrate continues.

Hillgrove is expected to be the most significant new source of antimony globally, reinforcing its strategic importance to western critical minerals supply chains.

Managing Director, Ron Heeks, commented, "Hillgrove will become Australia’s largest antimony producer, and with tungsten potential growing with multiple zones of mineralisation, the Company is leading the way for new Australian critical minerals production. We also continue to have meaningful dialogue with the NSW State Government,Australian Federal Government and numerous foreign governments, as mid-stream refining of our concentrate presents a significant value add, while assisting the Company to play an even more important role in supplying antimony and tungsten into domestic and global markets."
