Exciting news: Woodman Point Ammo Jetty is getting a makeover.

Following feedback from the community, the new jetty will more than double the space for fishing in deep water, deliver better access to the water for swimmers and divers and increase protection for the valued marine biota and sea life on the existing jetty piles.

The design means fishers can look forward to more space to drop a line in deeper water, and will benefit from the luxury of being able to fish with the wind at their back in all directions.

Congratulations Yara Pilbara!

Yara Pilbara has passed a major export milestone reaching 10 million tonnes of ammonia shipped to world and Australian markets through Dampier Port.
The 10 million mark was the 444th cargo since the first ammonia shipment from the Pilbara port in June 2006.
10 million tonnes of ammonia could produce enough fertiliser to provide crop nutrition for over 3.5 times Australia’s arable land.
“Reaching the 10 million tonne milestone without a safety incident at Dampier Port is a reflection of our robust safety systems, an experienced operations team and access to Yara’s global knowhow on both processing and shipping,” said General Manager Laurent Trost
“Locally our relationships with the Pilbara Ports Authority, stevedoring companies, pilots, tug operators, shipping agents and the cargo surveying companies all play an important role in the success of our shipping operation."
