21,408m Combined Performance

AMS 60 Series Tricones | Hematite Iron Ore | Autonomous Drilling

Two AMS 60 Series tricones recently achieved 10,260m and 11,148m in service with one of our valued customers, in hematite iron ore.

(Before the keyboard warriors jump in, no, this wasn't "free dig" ground.)

In autonomous drilling environments, drill bits don't get the benefit of an experienced driller making real time adjustments as conditions change. High metres are often a sign of well-developed drill control strategies, quality operational practices, and consumables robust enough to perform through changing and challenging geology.

Every metre matters. And so do the people who believe in you from day one.

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Drew and Jodie Martin from Blast It Global to AMS HQ.

Drew is highly respected in the drill and blast industry, and we're grateful that Blast It Global became the very first customer of our new Underground Division. Having the confidence and support of an industry legend like Drew from the start has played a significant role in helping the division gain momentum.

To show our appreciation, we presented Drew with a custom AMS trophy, along with a set of AMS × BIG Yeti cups for him and his team.

With global demand for critical minerals continuing to grow, rising tungsten prices are placing increasing pressure on mining operations, manufacturers, and supply chains worldwide.

One of the most effective ways the industry can respond is through the recycling of used drill bits.

Even after reaching the end of their service life, many drill bits still contain valuable tungsten that can be recovered and reused. Recovering this material helps reduce waste, lower reliance on newly mined resources, and support a more sustainable and cost-effective approach to mining and drilling operations.
