We recently joined Josh and Kath from Perth Zoo’s horticulture team for a behind the scenes walk, through the Zoo gardens, and an insightful discussion on their current projects.

Through IGO’s Community Partnerships, we were pleased to donate Tree Rings to Perth Zoo, who were keen to trial them in their horticulture and restoration work. Made from locally sourced, repurposed materials, Tree Rings improve moisture retention and deliver targeted nutrients to help young plants establish in challenging conditions.

After seeing strong results at our Forrestania Nickel Operations, particularly in arid environments, we were pleased to share both the Tree Rings and our learnings with the Zoo team as they explore their use across the gardens.

Collaborations like this strengthen our approach to rehabilitation and biodiversity and we are excited to continue building knowledge sharing opportunities that support healthier ecosystems.

At IGO, we are proud to support McDonald House Charities Western Australia to deliver the vital services that ease the emotional and financial pressures faced by regional WA families, making sure they can focus on caring for their loved ones.
In addition to our role as partner for Up All Night, we are also delighted to support initiatives such as the Ronald McDonald House Charities Gala Ball, which raised $2.6 million in funds. This will support over 11,000 nights of accommodation, nourishing meals, and support programs for regional WA families.

We recently hosted a special town hall to launch the second edition of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.

We were honoured to welcome members of our RAP Advisory Group (pictured) and First Nations employees, who shared powerful stories about their lived experiences and what reconciliation means to them. Their voices reminded us that reconciliation is about understanding, respect, and action, together.
