This is a GRC bench we made for luxury shopping centre Emporium Melbourne.

At almost 6 metres in length, the bench was created in 3 pieces and lightly honed to reveal the client chosen aggregate.

The pieces were then dressed with stained Blackbutt wood which not only served a purpose as seat dividers, but were also cleverly designed to mask the joins of the individual bench pieces, resulting in one seamless unit.

A recess was created within the mould to allow for lights to be added on site.

This project we completed a few years ago was for the Canberra Centre (Monaro Mall).

Mather Architecture required a concrete surface finish whilst also offering lightweight bespoke shapes and sizes for both interior ceiling panels and void spandrel panels.

To accomplish a consistent decorative surface finish, grey GRC was specified for 805sqm of ceiling panels and spandrel panels. The GRC system used offered greater levels of impact resistance and reduced free-lime content, with low alkalinity, leading to major reductions in efflorescence in comparison with ordinary portland cement systems.

Another HGN project, the bar surround panels we made for The Camfield.

The Camfield set a new standard for large scale venues, the 8,000-square metre venue includes six bars, 150 metres of bar top, a microbrewery, beer garden, a function centre, container bar & restaurant.

If you're doing your Christmas shopping at Karrinyup Shopping Centre this year, take a look at the stunning bespoke facade panels we manufactured here at HGN Design.

This was the East phase of the Karrinyup Shopping Centre Expansion Project, which HGN were awarded the contract for to manufacture and install.

When you get close you will notice the silver and black flecks of aggregate that run throughout, giving the panels a unique finish.

The panels are made from premium grade non-combustible GRC in accordance with AS1530.1.

Another project recently completed here at HGN Design, this time for the Newcastle Knights rugby league club.

The project brief was to develop a gift that looked like bronze, these would be a thank you gift to the club donors.

The aim was to have a brass object that would remind the sponsor of the premiership trophy, similar to a plague that would be a keep sake.

As the idea developed, our client chose to have coaster sets made, consisting of 4 brass looking coasters in a light grey holder.

55 sets were produced, a total of 220 coasters.

HGN delivered a keep sake that had weight and luster, similar to the premiership trophy.

A project that the HGN team completed a few years back, the Westfield Whitford City redevelopment. 450sqm of GRC was specified for the exterior cladding panels.

With the project being located near to the Indian Ocean the client required a bespoke colour which mimicked a sand-like textured surface finish whilst also achieving an excellent fire resistance in accordance with AS1530.1

The units were designed for comfort, durability and ease of maintenance. Finished off with amenities including armrests, side tables, USB charging stations and waste containers.

HGN are nearing the completion of His Majesty’s Theatre balcony reconstruction project in Perth.

As experts in heritage works, HGN were engaged to manufacture and install the GRC elements.

Comprising of 14 modules across two levels, weighing in at 19 tonnes each, each module was carefully installed to the Theatre's iconic heritage façade.

The modules replicate the original balconies that were removed in 1953.
