What does it take to integrate battery storage into an existing commercial solar system?
At 175 Hay Street, Element47 has implemented an AC-coupled battery storage solution alongside the existing SolarEdge solar installation.
The system is designed to capture and store energy generated onsite, allowing that stored energy to be used when it is most valuable — helping reduce reliance on grid electricity and improve the utilisation of renewable energy generation.
⚡ AC-Coupled Integration
The battery system is integrated on the AC side of the existing electrical infrastructure, allowing battery storage to work alongside the established SolarEdge PV system without replacing the existing solar installation.
☀️ Existing SolarEdge PV System
The rooftop solar array continues to generate renewable energy onsite, helping maximise the value of available solar generation.
🔋 Battery Energy Storage
Excess solar generation can be stored and made available when required, helping shift energy use and reduce reliance on grid supply.
🏢 Supporting Building Loads
The system is designed to support the building’s **lift and other electrical loads**, providing a practical energy-management solution for a multi-residential environment.
