Last year, one of our Ignition Grants helped a small charity to provide escape bags to women escaping domestic violence.

They didn’t just buy essentials.
They bought time.
Space.
Safety.

This year, we’re offering four $5,000 grants to organisations that empower vulnerable women and children in WA.

The application and acquittal process is intentionally simple. Because we believe your time is better spent with people who need it most.

EEO Specialists introduced Ignition Grants in 2024, and we were overwhelmed by the response and outcomes achieved. Thank you!

This year, we are going bigger and better. Four grants of $5,000 each to support projects that create sustainable change for vulnerable women and children in Western Australia.

The grant process is intentionally simple because we believe your time is better spent with people who need it most.

The World Vision Australia ‘Chosen’ campaign flips traditional child sponsorship - and we think it’s amazing!

Instead of sponsors selecting children, children now choose their sponsors. It’s a simple but profound shift in power which gives them dignity, agency, and hope from the very first moment.

At EEO Specialists we are proud to participate in this ground-breaking campaign. We are honoured by the two children (pictured) who have chosen us.

If you work for a charity or non-profit organisation, take a few minutes to read this thought-provoking blog by Louise Johnstone Forster - Chair of Palmerston Association

Louise shares her thoughts about how mandatory workplace behaviour training is often overlooked by charities and non-profits. “We expose our organisations to significant legal, financial and reputational risks that could harm our people and our mission”, she says.

Compliance isn't just about ticking a box, but about protecting our people, safeguarding our mission, and leading with integrity.

As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on the year that was – and what a journey it has been!

The significant changes in workplace behaviour legislation raised the bar, and the response from organisations has been inspiring. Our Founder and Director Franca Sala Tenna reflects on 2024 and offers some practical insights for 2025 in this blog: https://www.equalopportunitytraining.com.au/reflecting-on-2024/

Here's wishing you a happy festive season and a restful start to the New Year. We will be closed from December 23 to January 5 and look forward to reconnecting in 2025.

It’s that time of the year again! Workplace hashtag parties are an opportunity to unwind, bond with colleagues, and celebrate the year's achievements.

But in the midst of the festive spirit, let’s not forget that these gatherings are workplace events with expectations of respect and professionalism. What happens at the party doesn’t necessarily stay at the party – legal and financial consequences can impact individuals and organisations long after the event.

In this blog, workplace behaviour and compliance expert Franca Sala Tenna shares her thoughts on legislation, mitigating risk, and practical tips for employers and employees to celebrate responsibly: https://www.equalopportunitytraining.com.au/office-parties/

The EEO Specialists team wishes you a safe and happy festive season. Let’s make it a time of connection and positivity.

We can break the cycle of violence against women by starting at the beginning. By role-modelling respect, kindness, and equity to children. Every interaction they witness today shapes how they’ll treat others tomorrow.

Let’s plant the seeds of respect in our homes, schools, playgrounds, workplaces, and communities. Together, we can raise a generation of change.

On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, EEO Specialists reaffirm our commitment to creating safe and respectful workplaces.

Did you know that WA Parliament has passed the Industrial Relations Legislation Amendment Bill 2024? It now enshrines prohibition on sexual harassment in WA employment laws.

Under the new reforms, workers who are sexually harassed or bullied at work can apply to the WA Industrial Relations Commission for an order to stop sexual harassment or bullying. The Industrial Magistrates Court can impose a penalty of up to $13,000 in the case of an individual or $65,000 for a corporation if a stop order is contravened.

Everyone deserves to enjoy a life free from fear. Yet, 1 in 4 women in Australia will face domestic violence in their lifetime, and 1 in 6 will experience physical or sexual violence from a partner. For many, the lack of financial resources is the primary reason they return to unsafe environments.

We're hosting an exclusive preview on November 26 - limited to 100 guests only. Come witness psychosocial hazards like never before. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Opportunity International
