One simple way to improve your CV this week…
Most CVs don’t fail because people lack experience.
They fail because the value is not clear.
If you want to improve your CV this week, start with one thing. Make it clear, targeted, and results-focused.
What can you do?
1. Fix your opening summary
Your first few lines should match the role you want.
Use 2–3 keywords from the job description and state clearly what you do and the value you bring.
Recruiters often spend only a few seconds on a CV. This section helps them quickly decide if you are a fit.
2. Show results, not just duties
Instead of listing what you were responsible for, show what you achieved.
For example:
“Managed social media accounts”
becomes
“Managed 5 social media channels and increased engagement by 32% in 6 months.”
Numbers make your work easier to understand and more credible.
3. Use simple, clean structure
Stick to clear headings like Work Experience, Education, and Skills. Simple formatting helps both recruiters and screening systems read your CV easily.
4. Tailor it for each role
Sending the same CV everywhere rarely works.
A few small edits to match each role can make a big difference.
One thing to remember:
The top section of your CV should quickly answer three questions:
-Who are you?
-What role are you aiming for?
-What results have you delivered?
If someone can see that in seconds, your CV is already doing its job.
