As a baby sleep consultant, one of the key things I recommend to parents is ensuring their little ones are getting enough protein in their diet.

Protein helps regulate blood sugar levels, which in turn supports longer and more restful sleep cycles for your little one. When babies have balanced meals with the right amount of protein, they’re less likely to experience late-night hunger pangs that can wake them up during the night.

Incorporating protein-rich foods like chicken, turkey, beef, salmon, tuna, lentils, eggs, yogurt, etc, can make a big difference in how your baby sleeps during the night. A balanced meal helps keep them full longer, reducing the chances of waking up due to hunger.

Wondering when to move your baby from their bassinet to a cot?! 💕

There are no strict age guidelines; it’s all about what feels right for you both. Generally, this transition should occur when your baby has outgrown the bassinet or if you notice bub starting to roll over or move around.

Once you decide to make the switch, have your baby sleep in their cot for all naps and overnight when you’re at home. It’s best to avoid switching back and forth between the bassinet and cot during this period. Choose a starting point, commit and you and your baby will adapt quickly.

I really struggled with my first son’s sleep! We coslept and fed to sleep, but him at 14 months old, and me pregnant with bub #2 who was arriving in 5 months time, we needed to make a change.

Bringing in a sleep consultant made a huge difference! It transformed our sleep completely and changed our lives. Our toddler started sleeping through the night in his cot, in his own room. 🥳

I function so much better when I’ve had a full night’s sleep, and the same goes for my kiddos. 💙💙

Parenting can be tough and the mental load is so heavy, so why not ease that load by finding gentle solutions for your child’s sleep?
