I love a library! So much so they are one of the first places I pop on my travel itinerary. I enjoy the buildings themselves, often so majestic.

I enjoy looking at the selection of books the library staff have chosen to highlight and promote as it gives you insight into the locals, as does observing other readers in the library.

👯👯 HUGE NEWS - Facebook now allows you to have up to FOUR profiles.

Yes I know you may already have multiple profiles but that specifically contravened the Facebook terms of use but now it won’t.

This is very big news for social media managers as you will now be able to use a separate profile to manage your work accounts without the risk of being banned from said accounts for doing so.

Creating multiple personal profiles lets you easily organize who you share with and what content you see for the various parts of your life.

Something you frequently see in the comments section on social media is calls of “this post needs a trigger warning” …but does it really?

Pretty much every scenario of life could hold negative connotations for someone else and therefor make them feel triggered; sharing a photo of your wedding - someone who had lost their life partner feels triggered. Sharing a photo of your new house - someone who has been devastated by a house fire feels triggered. Sharing a photo of your new puppy - someone whose canine companion just died feels triggered.

So spend some time determining if you want to use trigger warnings in your social media content or not (there are many claims TWs are ineffective in preventing mental distress) and for what situations. Here’s a list of topics to:
1. Sexual violence
2. Racial violence
3. Su***de
4. Eating disorders
5. Violence / murder

How do you post them on social media? You start with the abbreviation TW (trigger warning) or CW (content warning), then CLEARLY state the sensitive topic that’s about to be discussed without and elaboration or descriptive language. Then try to leave a number of blank lines before you start your descriptive caption.

Shows you see those often overlooked in the community (so people will feel seen, heard, and understood).

We are aware of some comments on a recent post highlighting some grammatical errors. Whilst we accept the public would expect our posts to be accurate we will not be editing or correcting the post.

The officer that published the post PC 2705 is a dedicated officer and valued member of our Neighbourhood Policing Team, who strives to serve his community and make Cumbria safe. Prior to joining Cumbria Police he served his country with pride in the Armed Forces and since joining our team has worked tirelessly to support veterans and cadet groups. His grandfather also served as a Police Constable in what was then Cumberland and Westmorland Constabulary so he is proud to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps.

PC 2705 is also dyslexic, so writing these posts does not come naturally to him but he is keen to do so to highlight the excellent work he does on a daily basis to serve his community. The reason we will not be editing this post as we believe it highlights those with hidden disabilities who have to work hard on a daily basis to cope with them. We hope that PC 2705’s achievements serve as an inspiration to others and encourage them to follow their dreams 😊

In every forum marketing personnel are asking is it possible.

It is.

But you may need to change your strategy (or develop an effective strategy if you haven’t already). You need to truly understand why people come to and stay on social media platforms. You need to understand the inner workings of said platforms and you need to be agile and ready to change things up when an opportunity arises.

Social media isn’t set and forget.
