Unpopular opinion but your work colleagues *are not* your family.

Look, it's all contextual and relevant to your specific work place, however generally speaking, work places that call themselves families are generally a red flag❌

What does family mean to you? Ultimately "family" is a social construct and not all families are models of positive functionality and fairness - much like a workplace. Families often operate around power positions, where not all are equal and difference isn’t always celebrated.

How that translates next time to you are in an interview and hear that sentence?! ⬆️
That workplace that they may not have appropriate emotional boundaries in place, might be victim to some "parent-child" power plays + have a group think mentality.

If I had $1 for every time I've heard one of you beauts say "that is my dream role, but I don't have a degree!" or "I would love to change careers into ### field, but I don't have 10 years' experience" or "I know I can do that role but I haven't used SAP before."

Let's put it this way - I wouldn't be contactable via phone because your girl would be on Bora Bora living large! 🌴

Do you know how many times I've heard dudes say anything similar?! Honestly, less than a handful.

Stats should that women expect to meet circa 95% of the position requirements before they apply.

Honey, how are you meant to grow + develop in a role if you can already do 100% of it?! 📣

YOU are worthy, valuable + an asset. Apply for the damn role, sis!

You would have seen I've spoken a lot about how this year has been a real turning point for me + my life 💫

I've been actively working to practice gratitude everyday, and have been experimenting with different ideas + routines to develop new, healthier habits that set me up for success (aka NOT scrolling mindlessly though the gram at 11PM when I should be sleeping!🙃)

Starting a journal is something I've just started + although I'm super new to this, and don't know if I'm doing it "right" (note: is there even a "right" way to journal?! 🤷‍♀️) I'm really enjoying it!

What is something you do for your self care? To practice mindfulness? To remind yourself of your blessing + what you have to be grateful for?
