Are you next?
Don’t wait until your reputation is tarnished...
So, I was working out at the gym yesterday and I caught a story on the news.
It was about one of Australia’s leading private universities, Notre Dame, and how they had leaked peoples tax file numbers as a result of a cyber-attack.
Did you see it?
No matter what people say that bad press doesn’t matter, I would say that it does.
Just ask Optus, Medibank Private, HWL Ebsworth and many others who have suffered something similar.
It’s not just the bad press, it’s the time you could be otherwise using to do productive things, it’s the stress and anxiety of dealing with the media.
It’s also the financial penalties of paying ransoms, government fines, “brand” damage and the list goes on.
The government can declare it illegal to “sell” the information, but that doesn’t help if the people buying and selling that information are in countries without extradition treaties with Australia.
Regrettably, it also doesn’t stop the person who buys that information from using to steal someone’s identity and run up credit fraud in that person’s name.
It certainly doesn’t give you your time, your money or your pride back either and these things are priceless.
Now before you dismiss this, because your “too busy” or “too small” to be a target.
I’d urge you to imagine you were the one facing the press, explaining why you’d let someone’s identity be stolen and how you would feel.
Now I want you to imagine how you would feel, explaining to a long-term client, someone you’ve known for years, you might even consider them a friend, why you had let it happen.
Unfortunately, you’ll realise, doing nothing is a lose-lose scenario, and you will lose.
Naturally, and it goes without saying, you want to do everything possible to discover what you can do to avoid this happening to you.
Now, if you’re ready to discover that, then I encourage you to purchase a copy of my book by clicking here https://protectyourlegacybook.com/order

P.S. You may think I’m “too aggressive”, or an “ambulance chaser”. However, a mentor of mine a long time ago told me if you truly believe what you do can help people, then you have a fiduciary duty to do everything you can to convince them it’s in their best interest to engage you.
