How good are South Australia’s crops looking!

We have been busy on the road this month, checking in with existing clients, meeting some new faces and making the most of our farmers’ office time while it rains.

It has been fantastic to see crops looking so promising across the state. We have never heard so many people so happy to get a tractor bogged! 🌧️🌱🚜

One of the questions we’re asked most often is whether it’s better to purchase equipment using cash/an existing business facility, or equipment finance.

Every business is different, but here are a few things to consider:

• Will you need your existing business facility to support working capital, expansion or seasonal cash flow later in the year?
• Will the equipment actually be paid off if it’s rolled into a larger business loan, or will it remain part of your ongoing debt?
• How important is preserving cash for opportunities or unexpected expenses?
• What is the total cost? Equipment finance can often come with a higher interest rate than a standard business loan.
The right structure is the one that supports both your equipment purchase and the long term needs of your business.

Congratulations to Laura, who has just completed her Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management!

Laura has been working hard behind the scenes to complete her studies and become a fully accredited broker. She continues to take on more responsibility within the business and has become our go to expert for asset finance and home loans, while also starting to take the lead with some of our farming clients.

We are so proud of you, Laura, and excited that you have finished studying, for now! We know our clients are in excellent hands with you.

A great couple of days at the Eyre Peninsula Field Days!

It’s always good to get out and about, catch up with clients and familiar faces in person, and have a chat about what’s happening across the region.

And it was especially nice to see a few puddles around the place! The crops are looking amazing.

A special mention to the Port Neill Hotel for keeping us very well fed with delicious meals and fantastic service. Port Neill Hotel

Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat, it’s always one of the best parts of Field Days.

For many of the grain farmers we work with, this is often the pointy end of the season. Harvest income is still a little way off, but the bills don't stop, which is why this time of year is often when working capital becomes most important.

A big part of our role is making sure our clients are set up for every stage of the season. Right now, we're working with many clients to review their cash flow, make sure their working capital is in place and help them head into harvest with confidence.

By keeping in contact with our clients throughout the year, we're able to provide support that is well considered and efficient. Whether it's upgrading machinery before harvest, or purchasing a home as part of an off farm investment strategy, we already understand your business and can help you move quickly when opportunities arise.
