⚡From diesel dependence to greater energy resilience in Papua New Guinea
We’re proud to share the completion of Stage 3 of the Christian Leaders Training College energy transformation project in PNG, another step in a long term journey toward more reliable, affordable and sustainable power.
Located in the highlands near Mt Hagen, the College has faced years of unreliable grid supply, costly diesel generation and operational disruption. Through a staged approach combining solar generation with expanded battery energy storage capability, the campus continues moving toward a more resilient energy future.
This latest stage included expansion of the Tesvolt battery energy storage system to strengthen reliability and maximise the value of the College’s existing solar infrastructure.
Generator use, and its associated costs, have been reduced from 13 hours per day to 6 hours per week.
Projects like this show how distributed energy solutions can deliver more than energy savings - improving operational continuity, reducing dependence on diesel and creating infrastructure that supports long term community outcomes.
