What an incredible day of brand strategy yesterday building brands together.

My 6th Build Your Brand Immersion in 18 months where we dive so deep into each founder's brand and build them in real time on the day.

We worked through my framework, layering their brands through Purpose, Positioning, Personality and Picture.

As we worked through the final pillar (Picture) which is how the brand looks - it dropped in for everyone as to why we do this last.

It feels so rewarding when founders understand how the strategy works for them and shapes their visual identity.

When Lorelei Lee walked into the retreat, she was unsure and carrying a lot of self doubt about building her dream business.

She was new to Perth and starting from scratch in a different category.

She also didn't know how to bring her two passions together - business strategy and creative photography.

But she didn't need to worry - because that is what I do - I build brands AROUND the founder.

The only thing that changed is Di started working with me to build her brand.

Di Van der Walt sent out an email to her database after attending the April Build your Brand Retreat, expecting no replies - the normal response.

But this time, was different because she received 3 replies (300% increase from normal) and also someone signed up to join her Therapists Haven Community.

This was after implementing the messaging and brand positioning we established when building her brand.

She was so happy because normally the response is crickets - this what happens when you know who you are and your messaging is clear - your brand starts attracting.

I hear stories like this every week from clients - sorry for not sharing 🙈

Hannah had been struggling for two years.

Two years of knowing she was good at what she does but not being able to articulate it.

Two years of messaging that didn't land, offers that didn't convert, and a brand that looked the part but couldn't answer the one question every client asks before they buy: why you?

She had the logo, website, clients from LinkedIn, Google, Uber and Canva, a podcast - everything LOOKED like a brand from the outside.

But she couldn't tell you what she did in a way that made someone stop scrolling and think — that's exactly me.

So she kept tweaking for 2 years, feeling list - she kept changing the messaging, trying different angles, wondering if the problem was the copy, the offer, the funnel, the price.

It wasn't any of those things.

It was that she didn't have a through lin, no North Star. She hadn't landed on the single idea that made everything connect - from her story, to her input and offer.

You cannot charge what you're worth when you can't articulate why someone should choose you over everyone else who looks like you on paper.

We fixed it in 60 minutes during a Brand Accelerator session.

It had been sitting there all along, hidden without realising it was the brand - it just needed someone who could dig, find the through line and name it.

That's what brand strategy actually is - not a logo or colour palette. The foundation of whonyou are that makes everything else make sense.

If you're really good at what you do yet need to convince everyone they should work with you, you have a BRAND problem.

But because you don't know what brand actually is, it isn't on your radar as being a solution.

When you define and build a brand then position yourself in the market- you ATTRACT clients, who SEE your value, and come READY to buy at the price you present.

It is the most powerful sales activator in your business and when you build it right, is the most valuable asset in your business.

Who wouldn't want that.

I listened to a podcast yesterday and they shared this analogy which I loved....

Building a brand is like taking the escalator over the stairs, easier, faster and a lot more enjoyable.

Last night I presented to incredible founders doing big things from around the world, on the importance of brand in the era of AI.

It's funny, every time the audience takes a while to warm up to me, makes sense I guess - they're thinking what does this Aussie chick know.

Well about BRAND - a whole lot 😉

I love the challenge and I get a kick out of it - slowly working the room and winning them over one by one.

Even the ones with bigger egos.

Always by the end of it, they linger, engage, ask me questions and share their journey - asking for my input - last night was no exception.

Another awesome presentation that showed how brand can transform their business and how knowing who you are can help you leverage the power of AI.

Made some cool connections and always happy to share what I do with the next generation of entrepreneurs.

I was told my content looks too polished....

I was chatting to a client yesterday - I built her brand a few years ago — and she told me she'd been making her content look less polished because people had given her feedback that she seemed unapproachable.

So she'd been showing up as a watered-down version of herself, and now she felt confused about her brand.

And I said to her, think about it this way:

when you show up on Instagram, it's like going to work. Would you roll out of bed and walk into the office like that?

Would you drop your standards because of how everyone else is dressing? Or do you do you?

Because when you build a brand, you define who you are, and you hold that.

I also asked, are you changing how you show up based on feedback from people who aren't even your client?

Because when you become inconsistent, you your brand stops feeling like you and over time it will erode trust.

Who are you actually wanting to attract and what is authentic to you?

MY ADVICE - Hold your standard.

The right clients will appreciate how you show up.

Just make sure you're listening to the right people, and more than anything, stay true to your brand.

She said to me after,

"You're so right Cass, I love dressing up, I love looking good, I love looking well presented - that's just who I am."

Every three months I choose someone BTS in need with their brand, present in communities, provide free strategy sessions to founders that needs it to help move them forward their business.
