A little sneak peak into a spur of the moment 'photo shoot' with my kidlets.
I think there will be two separate posts for this lot. The gorgeous ones that stand out and the 'behind the scenes' - tantrums and all!

This was such a fun little photo-shoot for a Father's Day present. I have permission to post it now! :)

This little one has her older siblings wrapped around her pinky finger. Though, who can blame them?! xox

Sometimes in life it rains on us. Sometimes when it rains, it pours. I speak first hand of the importance of having your tribe there for you in the worst of times. To dance in the rain with you. To drink champagne with you. To take that tiny moment to appreciate the smallest amount of light and the tiniest of rainbows.
These ladies stand by each other through thick and thin. I know because they are part of my tribe.
Each of us have weathered some pretty scary storms. So, on this day when our photo-shoot was going to be rained out, we decided to embrace it. Weather the storm, embrace the sunlight and do it together. xoxox

Please like and share my page to keep up to date with my women in portraits/modern day tribes series. Let me know if you would like to be part of it. This is not a paid session, it's a personal project of mine.

Sending love to all those weathering a storm xox

This was my first ever photo-shoot for my portrait series, after I had made it my mission to show the world the beauty of the bond between women. (still searching for a name).

I can speak first hand of the importance of finding your tribe during Motherhood. They are your link to sanity, your saving grace. It is even more amazing and special if you are honest and open with each other. I wouldn't be able to count the number of times I felt relieved to find out another Mum was experiencing the same nightly circus that I went through with my first born.
The crazy thing is...When you become a Mum, you bring another person into this world who is totally and utterly attached to you. You are never alone. But, it can be the most lonely time in a woman's life. The most AMAZING and beautiful and any number of appreciative and awe inspiring descriptives. But also lonely. It is scary. It is confusing... and sleep deprivation is well and truly holding your cognitive abilities hostage.
So when you find that tribe, laugh together, love together, dance together and most importantly be yourselves.

I would love to spread the word about my Modern Day Women in Tribes project. Please tag your friends below who would like to follow my instalments, especially anyone who may be interested in a free photo shoot! Capturing that bond between women is not something normally done. I want to show our connections, our tribes. I would love for you to be a part of that. Don't forget to like my page!

"The women whom I love and admire for their strength and grace did not get that way because everything worked out. They got that way because it went wrong, and they handled it. They handled it in a thousand different ways on a thousand different days, but they handled it. Those women are my superheroes"

These ladies are film buffs who have spent many a time at the movies and formed a very strong bond over the years (the above quote was chosen by Anna) So, I turned a shoot in a cinema to a portrait backdrop and got a little of both 🙂

PM me for your own portrait with those women you couldn't live without! This is a personal project of mine (free!) that I feel very strongly about. If it hadn't been for the women in my life, I wouldn't have survived the past year and a half!

A continuation of my women in portraits series. Every portrait reflects beautiful women and the friendships they have.

As I have gotten older and experienced more of life, one thing has become more certain; The relationships and bonds that are formed between women can be life saving. These women, whom we choose to connect with, can be called our sisters, our friends, our soulmates or even our tribe. For those of us lucky to have happy and healthy romantic relationships, the connection you form with the women closest to you does not detract from what you have with your partner, but strengthens it. They are there for support, counselling, understanding and encouragement. They are there to help you believe you will make it through the hard times. Others, who may not have found the right partner yet are comforted, loved and supported in the strength of the 'sisters' they have around them.

Motherhood. This is possibly the scariest and most intensely exciting time of a woman's life. Everything is amazing and terrifying at the same time. My eldest is turning six next year and I'm still scared I'm going to break him! It is from the women we hold close to us that we remember we are not alone, we have our village.

I have decided to start work on a personal project; to show off these 'tribes', soulmates or sisters. I want to capture the unique connection that each friendship has and appreciate the story behind every one. I have noticed a huge gap in the portraiture world. We have couples, children, families and even pets. Where are those portraits with the women we can't live without? My goal is to spread the love and further encourage women everywhere to lift each other up. Especially when we are at our lowest.

If you would like to participate in my project please PM me!

I hope you enjoy it!
