JG3DP Hobby Printing - focussing on self design/modelling and functional prints I have 20 years experience in construction and 15 years in Environmental Health. Cheers

I enjoy designing and building projects that are tangible and that the end users can enjoy or gain some benefit from. 3D printing was always an interest so I dived into it at the recommendation of a good friend. It definitely is a steep learning curve but fortunately my basic CAD background helped with learning 3D modelling software. A lot of what I print is functional, although I do print toys an

d trinkets for the Grandkids. Ultimately this is a hobby for me and the only prints I aim to sell are those I have personally designed or hold software commercial licence to sell (Hueforge).

Another niche little print for some Agility friends. These are dog Touch Training discs to apparently teach your agility dog to stop and touch at certain points before going onto or exiting equipment i.e. skywalk/balance beam. Anyway it's all very technical 😁 but beats using a cd if they even still exist. Made from durable PETG, specifically printed in blue and yellow as dogs vision is more adept at picking up those colours. Small spike to push into the grass and keep it in place.

Mucking around with a design for a Goldmonster 2000 Stand - 22mm shaft. After some user input seeings I don't have nor use a GM2000. For pack down would a stand with legs/base that unscrews be more desirable or not a big deal?

This model is made up of three pieces - the mount and mid section will bolt onto 22mm shaft in front/behind armrest via 2 x M5 bolts (Philips) with a M5 Hex head bolt protruding through the mid section. Those sections will remain on the shaft and only require initial install. The base/legs will then be able to screw on and off by hand.

Just working on the best way to add stops once the base is tight. Legs span 210mm and should sit the GM approx 125mm from base of shaft to ground.

Likely fit other detectors that run 22mm - 20mm shafts as there's 2mm adjustability between top and mid mounts.

Open to user suggestions - if I can draw it I can print it!!

Had a little project to do today as part of the print/sewing room reno. Had to frame out a desk carcass out of 70mm x 35mm so modelled and printed these last night to assist. Nice having an extra hand!

New Product - 2011 - 2018 Ford Ranger 36oz Yeti Cupholder with 26oz Adaptor. I have modelled this one from scratch (see video) off my ol mans 2015 Wildtrack. If you have this style of console cupholder this will fit in either cupholder. I aimed to get it as central as possible whilst still maintaining access to the other console cupholder for the usual obligatory coin/junk storage. Will be doing these for $55 - 36oz no Adaptor (97mm ID), $65 36oz with 26oz Adaptor (91mm ID) and $55 for 26oz drinkbottle (91mm ID) or 24oz Mug (91mm ID). $11 postage anywhere in Au. Printed in Sunlu Matte Black PETG supplied by the guys at RAW3D Filament.

This bad boy turned up today! Bambu Lab H2D - it's going to dwarf the trusty little P1S. Few extra accessories too Thought I'd treat myself with some of that big trip gold money, now just gotta get the new "utility" room finished.

Another bit of R&D for my good friends at Medicar Automotive Solutions. Jacob asked if I could model a 3 gang switch plate to fit the Ranger, Everest, Raptor console similar to the UHF plate (passenger side) I have printed for them but for the drivers side. This took quite a few protos to get the switch mechanism tolerances right as if it was too tight it puts pressure on the switch body and would not self release, too loose and the switch wasn't secure.

Also designed with the installers in mind, so that each switch can be pushed out from the back relatively easy by finger or long flat tool. Blanking switch plates and inside cover plate to hide wiring also included.

Just waiting on final fit up by Jacob to ensure everything is sweet and then can release an unbranded version as well.

Another little project I modelled for the Monaro. This is just a draft print in PETG but if I go ahead with it I'll likely do it in ASA and have it painted with the underdash. Fits 3 x 52mm Autometer gauges with top access for wiring through the underdash. I've extruded an additional plate to use as a fitment guide/predrill of holes into underdash. If you have any projects like this feel free to drop me a message.

This is why I love 3D printing - Gails camp chair was allegedly broken - give me a look. Hmmmm plastic stops are missing - give me a minute, pull the last remaining original one out, grab vernier calipers, Fusion 360, send to print. Test fit, adjust one width, send to print - install. Brand new again!! 1.5hr print 76c of filament!
