SO... if you are in a big corporate environment with tons of employees get your teams of 6 together, lie down on the floor one behind the other (with your team captain at the front or a cox at the back!)

Split teams between your workspaces (hahaha).

Put the song on, and start leaning forward, then lean back get a rhythm going then lean forward arms out to the right, lean back, then lean forward arms out to the left.

Rinse and repeat to the rhythm and beat...

Its a great stretch! Its HR and OT rolled into one! 😉

As I sat in the RDH hydro pool today, watching and reflecting, I swear I’m seeing a whole mini-series of Business & Life stories unfold right in front of me.

Going to hydro the last 5–6 weeks, you notice lots of things and meet people on their own recovery journey.

Here’s my (current) 2 bobs worth (aye, it’s a bit emotional 💙)

I see beauty…
And sadness…
And courage…
And love and support…
And faith and resilience…
And people quietly backing each other when it matters.

Today I watched a woman sitting at the edge, supporting her partner in the pool. She held the physio exercise sheets, steady as you like, encouraging him through the reps.

I caught her eye, gave her a wee wink and a thumbs up… because that kind of support deserves to be noticed.

Turns out she’s 81 and he’s 91 😳❤️ (names made up for the story)

Later, after he showered and dressed, she helped comb his hair and settle him.

Simple. Quiet. Beautiful.

And it triggered my heid again:

This is why stories matter.
This is why people matter.
This is why “support” isn’t a fluffy word… it’s a lifeline.

It’s also one of my 5 life pillars in my BBBA.

Wee question: who’s been your “Jane” lately, the person quietly holding the sheet while you do the hard work?

I picked this one because yesterday was a bit of a “disco dancing shoulders” day… and I refused to let it invade my headspace. 😅

Aye peeps, it really was a pure High Tides / Low Tides experience!

I’ve been here before. And it’s the long game: patience, process, faith, recovery… ABAAT.

The thing that helped?

I knew I was getting my fix of spirituality and wisdom with Pat at the hospice… and then a Poppa refill with my wee princess Claudia afterwards. ❤️

So today’s song came easy… because I was about to spend time with two people who are simply… just the way they are to me. Ok ok lol.

Cheesy? Maybe.
Heartfelt? Absolutely.

Saturday Night Fever in the 70’s was one of the biggest movies ever in its heyday and made a superstar of John Travolta – aye showing my age here lol so what!

The soundtrack from the movie was also, at the time, one of the biggest selling albums ever and spawned so many hits from the Bee Gees and other artists. The Trammps were one of them (good quiz night stuff!).

What a fitting song for the more mature among us who haven’t thrust their hands and hips in opposite directions hahaha!

Well, the last tune was a crooners one so time to speed things up peeps. Maybe one or 2 more to keep the dopamine going!

Blessed to see them both again today.

Just To Be Close To You is a perfect tune because, for me, it’s about keeping the connections open with these special people in our lives.
