While I’m not back out on the road yet, I have still been taking calls and giving advice or diagnostics on the phone.

The last 2 weeks I have seen a large increase in people calling about the car not starting.
With a few quick questions I can usually tell you if it’s the battery.

Coming into the colder seasons, it is the time that batteries of poor health will start to give you issues.

This morning I saw this pop up in my emails and thought I would share.

A simple little pack like this can get most cars moving in order to get home for the day or to a local parts store or mechanic to have the battery tested and replaced.

I will do a small tutorial video shortly to show you the correct procedure of a jump start.

Morning all, just an update.
I have finally waded through all the insurance fight and admin and acquired a new (to me) Ute.

I am doing well but still recovering to my fullest and will also need to modify the Ute to fit tools etc but will hopefully be back to small jobs in the near future.

In the meantime RP Mobile Auto Care Mobile Service Centre are all great mechanics.

I honestly cannot thank everyone enough for the effort and care thant went in to making sure that both myself and the driver of the other car were ok yesterday.

To everyone that pulled up on the side of the road to assist, words won’t relay the gratitude I feel. I wish knew the details of everyone of you to thank you personally.

To the multiple NSW Ambulance crews who were on scene, one stopping mid transport to assist.

The team JJ Performance Smash Repairs who not only removed the cars but scoured the road to pick up all the tools they could find.

Tahmoor Rural Fire Brigade who came to ensure the scene was safe and cleared all the spills appropriately.

Without every bit of assistance yesterday, things may have turned out differently. Glad to say that we both came away extremely well considering what occurred.

I will look to rebuild soon and try to get back to all the customers that have been impacted if I haven’t already offered alternative arrangements. But for right now I will take a little time to make sure I’m right and well first.

Garry has been in a car accident, we have lost the Ute and all tools. Anyone who is booked in today or this week unfortunately will have to be cancelled until further notice.

Why do our cars need the oil changed every 10000kms? What does oil actually do to help our cars run?

🔧 1. Lubrication
Engine oil lubricates the moving parts of the engine. Without lubrication, these parts grind against each other, causing excessive friction, heat, and wear.

🔥 2. Heat Dissipation
Oil carries heat away from engine components. Old oil is less effective at cooling, which can lead to overheating and engine damage.

🧼 3. Cleaning
Oil helps clean out dirt, debris, and sludge. These contaminants build up in the oil and can cause blockages and reduce performance.

⚙️ 4. Preventing Corrosion
Additives in good quality engine oil help prevent rust and corrosion of the engine. As the oil gets old, these additives degrade.

🚨 5. Protecting Engine Life
Skipping oil changes for a long time can lead to expensive repairs or even complete engine failure.

🛠️ 6. Improved Fuel Efficiency
Less friction means more milage.

Last week I was getting my daily coffee on my day off with the kids and the barista mentioned she had a flat. Obviously I helped her out, safety boots and all as captured by the cafe owner.

Yesterday I got this bloody beautiful slice as a thank you, so good 🤤
