As the COVID-19 crisis unravels the government is working hard to help businesses stay in business and for employees to stay in work.
The new fortnightly $1500 JobKeeper payment announced today recognises the investment businesses have made in their team and will go a long way to achieve this over the next 6 months.
To be eligble as an employer your income needs to reduce by 30% or more and employ an eligible employee.
Are your employees eligible?
Eligible employees are employees who:
• are currently employed by the eligible employer (including those stood down or re-hired);
• were employed by the employer at 1 March 2020;
• are full-time, part-time, or long-term casuals (a casual employed on a regular basis for longer than
12 months as at 1 March 2020);
Businesses without employees, such as the self-employed, can register their interest in applying for JobKeeper Payment via ato.gov.au from 30 March 2020.
