𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗨𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀! 🛠️
Alright, confession time. Many years ago, my wife and I decided to tackle a “simple” DIY project - building a retaining wall for our first home 🏡. Double brick, no less. We thought, “How hard can it be? We’ve got this!” Famous last words, right?
So, we got to work. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆. Blood, sweat 💦, and probably a few tears 😅 later, we stood back to admire our masterpiece… only to see two squiggly, wonky courses of bricks 🧱 that looked like they’d been laid by someone blindfolded. We looked at each other, exhausted, and said, “Right, let’s call a bricky.”
And let me tell you, that was the best decision we ever made. In less than a day - 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬 - the bricky had the whole double brick wall done. Fourteen courses, straight as an arrow 🎯, and looking like something out of a magazine. Meanwhile, we were left wondering how on earth they made it look so easy 🤯.
That’s the magic of tradies, isn’t it? They’ve got the skills, the experience, and the know-how to fix in five minutes what would take the rest of us an entire afternoon (and probably a few trips to Bunnings 🛒).
So today, on National Tradies Day, I just want to say how much I admire these legends. Whether it’s a bricky, a sparkie ⚡, a plumber 🚿, or a chippy 🪚, you’re the ones who keep our homes standing, our lights on, and our lives running smoothly.
