No words can express our grief at the passing of our dear friend Chris Grigg. After a long and brave battle with Motor Neurone Disease, Chris - affectionately known as Griggsy to many of us who had the honour of calling him a friend - passed away last Thursday afternoon.
For fifteen years Griggsy was part of our Austral team, gifting us his hard work, professionalism and camaraderie and cementing him in the hearts of all who worked alongside him.
Griggsy was energetic, loud, passionate, funny and loyal. A champion footballer in his youth, Griggsy’s determination and positivity later saw him able to face his MND diagnosis with courage, poise and grace.
It is hard for many of us to imagine that someone so full of life can actually be gone from our lives, but for us at Austral, he will never really be lost. Griggsy will stay with us, in our shared memories, the skills we learned from him, the advice he gave and the jokes he told.
