✅Are you currently working as a rail labourer with at least 2 months’ experience as an aluminothermic welding offsider?
✅ Are you ready to take the next step toward becoming a qualified aluminothermic welder?

This nationally accredited course provides the skills and knowledge required to achieve competency in aluminothermic welding within the rail industry.

Units delivered:
- TLIW3015 Weld rail using the aluminothermic welding process
- TLIW0006 Heat and cut materials using oxy-LPG equipment for the rail industry
- TLIW0004 Grind rails

The program includes 5 days of face-to-face training, followed by on-the-job assessment to support competency in a workplace environment.

This course is suitable for individuals with existing industry experience who are seeking to formalise their skills and progress within the rail sector.

Course fee: $2,000 per participant.

Recently, our trainer Ty was in Brisbane delivering our Aluminothermic (AT) Welding course for Queensland Rail.

AT welding is a fusion welding process that uses an exothermic chemical reaction between aluminium oxide and a metal oxide to generate the intense heat required to join metal components, such as rail.

🔥 Fun fact: this exothermic reaction generates temperatures exceeding 2,500°C!

During the course, learners completed training and assessment in the following units:
• TLIW3015 Weld rail using aluminothermic welding process
• TLIW0006 Heat and cut materials using oxy LPG equipment for the rail industry
• TLIW0004 Grind rails

Participants have now returned to the workplace to complete their on-the-job component, with full competency achieved within six months.
