They have a habit of leaking and destroying the preamp.

Possibly due to a poor speaker connection or no load situation.

Some before pics of the Quad II that had a melt down. Tar from the power transformer has gone through the amp due to an accidental no load condition.

Goldentone Stereo Six.
A very interesting amp this one.
It has 2 x 15watt amps in one cab that run into 3 x 6” speakers each.
One channel has reverb and trem.
They can be run separately or linked.
A plethora of tones in this one and I was sad to see it go.

Public Service Announcement for Maton owners.
Don’t forget to check your batteries regularly. Some batteries tend to leak more than others and can destroy your preamp as a result.
The entire preamp had to be replaced in this one.
