🌟DESIGN TIP for perfect bound books.

Watch your spine area.

One of the most common mistakes we see is things like faces, headlines and important image details being placed too close to the spine.

Once the book is bound, those details can disappear into the spine, making the spread feel cluttered and causing important details to be lost.

Keep important elements clear of the spine area, allow around 3–5mm clearance where possible, and consider adding borders around images that cross a spread, or choose imagery that can afford to lose a few millimetres in the centre without affecting the overall design.

Most importantly, check a printed mock-up or hard copy proof before going to print.

Your screen won’t always tell you everything. A printed book will.

✨SHORTFALL COVERS ✨

Add another layer of interest to you brochure design with a shortfall covers. Fold them, layer them, play with colour contrast, graphic elements and different paper colours and textures - use the layers to frame what’s inside.

They create a little moment of discovery before you’ve even turned the first page.
