Why is the black coating so good?

We’ve had trade partners ask why the coating on our Boss hardware holds up so well. It’s a fair question, and worth sharing.

Boss fittings are zinc plated first, then fluidised bed powder coated.

Lynx is hot-dip galvanised first, then fluidised bed powder coated.

Fluidised bed is different from our spray line. The part is preheated, then dipped straight into a tank of aerated powder. The powder fuses on contact instead of relying on electrostatic charge like our spray guns.

That’s why you don’t see thin or shadowed patches near jig points. The coating is much thicker, and adhesion is noticeably stronger. There’s no back-charging limit like there is on spray, so the coating just keeps building.

“Where are the backup batteries?”

Had an urgent hand delivery of a Medio operator at a trade partner’s farm. We were met by the Chief Rat Manager who wanted to inspect the delivery. Partner got the motor. We get parts-checked by this massive unit who can’t hold a pen.

BTW Medio batteries sit on top under the cover.
